After some significant damage from hurricane Helene, we are back in business! And we’re so so happy! These tulips are grown with a whole lot of love right here in Black Mountain. Please come visit our farm stand and pick up some tulip bunches. We also have some potted flowers that would make nice gifts. Farmstand is stocked for Valentine’s week. It will be loaded starting on Wednesday, February 12th at 9 am as long as the temperature is above 34°. We will keep loading the stand until we run out. At this point, we have lots and lots of tulips so I think we’re going to have enough to at least get through Friday morning.

Farm stand is self-serve, simply pull into the gravel turnaround at 806 N. Fork Rd. There is a wooden box for cash payments or you can use Venmo or Apple Pay with my phone number.

Tulips:
$20 a bunch or three bunches for $55.

$30 large potted, hellebore and blush or deep plum

$6-12 potted flowers like roses, Heather, freesia, sweet William and hyacinth

As always, I’m very thankful to this community for the love and support of our business and farm, especially during the last few difficult months.

And the really good news is we’ll have fresh flowers stocked at the stand every Thursday now until October.

Greetings Friends,
What to say, what to say. As you probably all know, we suffered an awful hurricane the end of September and our area is still actively recovering and it’s going to take a really long time. It’s a very strange place to be in as a resident here and a business owner. I see the destruction everyday and while we are all helping each other out we still have a long way to go.

I feel strange to ask you to buy things during this time but that’s one of the pieces of the puzzle we need here to recover. We need everybody to shop local and if you’re not from the area, maybe you could consider buying from this area and getting gifts shipped to you. It makes a difference. I know our business lost all of the October revenue and so much of our plants and infrastructure washed away with the storm. My situation isn’t unique, as I know so many businesses that lost a lot of fall income and also have repairs to make for their businesses.

And then there’s the gratefulness piece of being safe and healthy, and having so many wonderful people helping us here. As a community we’re very, very grateful.

As you begin to think about holiday gifts and you’re going to your favorite local shops, would you consider swinging by our cute little farm stand? It’s only a mile from Black Mountain and a few miles from Swannanoa. Everything is self-serve and it’s very easy to pop in and out. As long as the temperatures are above 40° and we have product, we will have the farm stand open. This is what we have:

If you spent any time in Portland, Oregon you probably turned the radio dial to Kink.fm 101.9 (true to the music) or went to a McMenamins Pubs, Breweries & Historic Hotels to listen to some local live music. It is very possible that you heard Craig Carothers on Kink or saw him in person at the many pubs and small stages in the Portland area. I was introduced to him by my sister, at McMenamins Kennedy School, and have been a fan ever since!

On a whim, I emailed Craig a few years ago to see if he wanted to come out this way to sing his songs on our stage at my flower farm, Bloom WNC. To my surprise he emailed me right back and said ‘sure’! It was an honor to host Craig. He wooed us with his heartfelt songs and made us laugh with his stories. He can really capture an audience.

Unfortunately, we’re having to cancel the David Childers concert for tonight, July 19. With a high chance of thunder showers we didn’t want to risk it. David Childers has come for the last three years and we are sad to miss him tonight, but we will have a rescheduled date available soon.

We know how challenging it can be to get dinner on the table sometimes. That's why we offer three convenient pick up locations each week for our nourishing, locally sourced, chef-prepared take home dinners.

That way, you can just pre-order and then swing by on your way home from soccer practice, errands, work, or whatever else is keeping you busy these days! They come in ready to heat containers with instructions and every ingredient listed. Easy dinner night, dialed!

Spring has Sprung, and Easter is next Sunday!

We will stock the self serve flower stand Wednesday afternoon the 27th and through the weekend! (note that tulips will not be out at stand if it’s heavily raining or below 32 degrees).

We have gobs of tulips ready this week. Come at your convenience. No crowds and ample parking. 🥰

THEY’RE HERE! TULIPS!

Self Serve Flower Stand update… please share.

We harvested our first crop of winter tulips this week, and we have thousands more coming on soon. We plan to stock the self serve flower stand on Thursday-Sunday while availability lasts and temperatures are above 35 degrees. Tulip bunches are $20 a bunch or 3 bunches for $50. Payments in cash in the wooden box attached to the table, or Venmo (bloom_wnc). Farm address is 806 North Fork Road. Pull into the gravel turnaround in front of the white shed.
Please do not tour the property. If you’re interested in a farm tour and cut your own bouquet, I have posted the 2024 dates on my website.

Let’s do another GIVEAWAY…..
Let’s give away some more tulips, but this time they are tulips to be picked up at our two specific locations that are new this year! The majority of our flower shares are for farm pick up in Black Mountain but we want to extend a little further from the farm and are very pleased to welcome two outstanding partners: Red Fiddle Vittles and Seeker Coffee. This is a tulip subscription with 6 bouquets picked up every two weeks starting January 16th

2. Tag a friend/s (as many as you want) that would enjoy local flowers this winter and can either pick up in South Asheville at Red Fiddle Vittles (and while they are there they can pick up dinner since this gourmet grab and go caterer has AH-MAZiNG weekly menus) or at the newest and hippest coffee joint in the historic building in Old Fort.

3. Winners will be announced on January 12th. And the first pick up will be on the 16th.
