Hey, friends!

I want to put some awareness out about an unfortunate trend myself & fellow photographers are noticing way too often lately.
There are a lot of scammers out there that will pose as vendors, seem okay at first and give you a good deal, and end up being a complete scam, when you’re trying to plan something so important. I’ve joined more Facebook wedding groups in the last year and I’m seeing posts over, and over again warning people, or desperate couples finding last minute vendors because theirs stopped all communication and took their money.

PLEASE - To protect yourselves and your investment, this is my advice:
Do not book a photographer that won’t do a contract, that won’t meet you in person and that gives you any kind of weird feelings.
Look for a clear location on their website, and reviews online.
Look up their business license: https://secure.dor.wa.gov/gteunauth/_/ #1
Ask for proof of insurance! We will never be offended!
Those only accepting a payment in cash, or Venmo friends and family only transaction for such a large amount (business Venmos exist) are more likely to have not gone through the steps to accept payments legitimately whereas a business taking cards on something like Square or Stripe or a check to a business account has had to go through vetting steps.

Now I want to finish this out with saying just because a newer photographer has not established all of these things does NOT mean they are a scammer - because I have friends and colleagues that are in those portfolio building stages for sure. You can always ask on your Facebook and see if you have mutuals that can vouch. Also, I am always happy to help if any of my clients or followers want to shoot me an email or a message to ask about a potential vendor and I can see if myself or someone in my networks knows them.

How cute is this?? Client requested personalized blankets for each of their 30 guests. We couldn't find anything online, so I whipped out my scissors and sewing machine for these comfy cozy wedding favors.

A Beady Bridal Emergency, bride had alterations done in her home town in Atlanta and they forgot to put the beads back on the parts that had to be removed. Two hours of scrupulous hand sewing about 65 beads and we are good to go for her wedding this Sunday!
