Follow up to my Rehab September 3, happy Labor Day to everyone. I hope you had a wonderful weekend, as it was a long one to enjoy family and friends. I will say that most of the weekend I was quiet. I had done so much last week I was really sore and I had a little swelling in both of my legs in the knee area which set me back a little bit. So much so today I worked on the upper body because upper body strength is so important to my being able to make it this next 90 days without my legs and run my race. There’s no way that I can run on one leg lol, but I’m going to try.

Physical therapy is grueling, but it is a necessary thing. I have to push past the pain and get through it in order to get my mobility back. I have seen so much improvement in my ability to lift my right leg, that has the rod and the broken hip, and not have to use my hands to do it. It’s still a little shaky, but I’m able to do things I was unable to do two days ago and I get emotional with each progression because it is a Massive improvement to me.

No pictures to share today, I sat on the side of the bed and did the upper body strength exercises. I Will be up again tomorrow with weight bearing on my leg and work on getting in and out of the wheelchair. I want so much to be home and am working hard to get there. I couldn’t have done this without the support of everyone around me and I can’t thank you enough for those that have helped me and my GoFundMe account. It will allow me to get some physical therapy at home as well as nutritional items that I need to repair bone and muscle. I say thank you and God bless you for being there, Connie.

Welcome to Heavenly Wreaths Company

Hi, I’m Connie Eitel.

I live in the very hot state of Arizona, so we don’t have as many seasons as you all do in the north and south. When I was young I used to love to make things. I was pregnant with my first child and I had all the time in the world on my hands. I could sit all day and make ceramics. My husband at the time was in the military, and I found a wonderful woman who saw my work, and taught me how to use a kiln and preserve my work. . I never really took my passion for creating seriously because I was always taught that I had to go to work, at a serious job to support my family. So like so many other mothers, after the baby was born, I went to work in a factory, because that was a serious job. I put my creativity aside for 48 years. I raised my kids, and being creative was then limited to decorating my home. About two years ago I lost my husband of 23 wonderful years to Muscular Distrophy/ ALS. I made the decision with my husband to retire after many years of working in corporate America, To spend whatever time we had left, together. It was such a difficult time. Once he was gone, It was then that I began making wreaths as Christmas presents for my neighbors that first Chrismas after his passing. The Lord reminded me of how crafty and creative I was before life took its course. The first thing that I noticsed, was how happy my friends and neighbnors were. That happiness gave me strength, and guided me here. Every time I make something new, I get to share the happiness and peace that I re discovered, with everyone who sees them. I found such comfort in making these beautiful weaths, that it just took on a life of it’s own. How blessed I am to have the opportunity to make and share something that is so close to my heart. From there the Lord inspired me to put my shop together, held my breath, and took a huge leap of faith. Now I’m building my Etsy shop and I’m trying to get as many products for you as I can. I Can’t wait to meet all of you. My goal is to give back however the lord leads me.
