I always find it very exciting when my friends feel comfortable sharing their musical tastes with me. I especially love it when their choices are eclectic or nostalgic. I find it extremely motivating, & love having my eyes opened to something new or that I forgotten. Seeing someone express fondness for a specific song or genre of music is very enlightening & often causes an immediate bond. I am sure a few DJs will disagree with me, but I, most of the time, don't mind taking requests. It helps me get in the head of my audience. It's like a cheat code that unlocks different groups in a single space. I tackle every dancefloor wanting to form a bond with every group in this space reggardless of their past, race, age, or beliefs. Because of those who share their musical influences with me, I can feel confident performing in front of a melting pot of people, any day of the week.
