We have two full service weddings coming up late-summer and mid-fall (wait until you see these pretty details!) and they both will be hosted at the lovely Allegheny Country Club.

I can’t help but reminisce on Adara and Trey’s beautiful wedding at ACC last year when we planned Here for the first time.
-
Their wedding design included a warm color palette and nods to their love for outdoors and hosting (how adorable are these bird plates!?) And, after a venue change months prior due to unforeseen circumstances and a day-of thunderstorm scare (Appreciate you, ace hardware, for selling us all of your tarps!) we made their dream day of lovely al fresco dinner and dancing on a warm late-spring evening come to life.

I’m touching down in Sarasota this morning and headed to Longboat Key to finalize designs + menu selections for Kelly and Allen’s wedding this coming January. In-person design reviews are one of my favorite steps in the planning process, as there are always new ideas and creative concepts that change (for the better!) when you get to see your linens, flowers, and tabletop options all together.

While I’m in FL for the next 48 hours, Steffanee is taking the lead this weekend back in Ohio at Westlake Country Club to coordinate Tiffany & Chris’ wedding day.

Here are three upgrades I’d make to your reception tablescape to instantly elevate the design (🤍and you can achieve this in most budget ranges!)

👏🏻1. Dinner Plate, Salad Plate OR Charger - You only need to pick one of these to add interest to your tabletop, and pssst, a dinner and salad plate are a fraction the cost of a charger!
-
👏🏻2. Napkin - This is a great way to bring in color, texture, pattern (or all three!) Napkins are typically a low-cost item and can be a great way to tie your wedding design together.
-
👏🏻3. Water Goblet - Let’s bring in an exciting glass option! Maybe it’s a colored water goblet, a crystal coupe glass, or an etched floral pattern on our wine set. Upgrading your glassware will add visual interest! (if it’s in your budget, consider upgrading the entire glassware set)

✨4. BONUS TIP - I’d consider your reception linens next on this list! The choices are ENDLESS and you could always focus upgrading half of your tables, or just the head table if in a prime location, to enhance your design if budget doesn’t allow for a total upgrade.

Jenny had an amazing vision for her wedding day from the very first call we had together, but when unfortunate circumstances changed our venue location after months of planning, we had to adjust our design choices a bit to reflect their new venue and atmosphere.✨

A few things remained the same throughout, like her floral selections and color palette, but when we moved our reception from a ballroom to a tent, we decided to bring in more natural elements - like her wood chiavari chairs and woven light fixtures - to compliment the natural landscapes and textures around the property.
-
I’m so thankful that Jenny had such a strong vision for her day from the start, so when it came time to make some major changes along the way, we had a solid foundation to guide us. 🤍

I really love this pov. We went back and forth on if we wanted to rent Carly and Michael’s entire reception space or if we should just cover our stage.

I’m so glad we took a chance and decided to only tent our band stage (we had a larger tent reserved for a plan B!), but it turned out to be a gorgeous day and the all fresco experience allowed for incredible views of the property with simple bistro lights strung overhead, and the tent made for a great backdrop to our dance floor. ✨

From the picture perfect ceremony, to cocktails by the pool, a surprise show from the groom’s band, espresso martinis + late night pool jumps, so many magical moments came together to make this a wedding day one to remember, a dream come true, and one that would not have happened without the incredible team of vendors that worked tirelessly all week to pull this private estate wedding off.

When designing your wedding day, it's important to think through all of the "big moment" angles that will be captured by your photographer and what your surroundings will look like. Big moments that come to mind are your bridal processional, first kiss, your entrance into the reception, and your first dance.

There were multiple arches/entrances on this home, and we made room in our budget to highlight one of them with a big statement floral.
-
We chose to adorn this arch behind Carly and Michael because it was perfectly centered behind their grand entrance into the reception, and was a primary walkway for guests during cocktail hour, allowing them to experience it up close.
-
Designing a wedding day takes time and attention to do it well, and we love working with our florist + photographer teams to make sure these moments are thought through!

Merry Christmas & happy holidays from our family to yours✨ love, Alyssa, Brad, Baker, and Ava.

We’re spending cherished time with family and friends over the next few weeks and I am signing off of my social accounts to be present in these fleeing moments through January 4th. I’ll be periodically checking my DMs, but please email me if something is urgent.

I encourage you to consider some sort of social boundaries over this Christmas holiday as well. Whether it’s a complete sign off or a time-limit each day that locks your app once you’ve reached it 🤍 (if you’re like me, I just click “ignore the time limit” lol - so I’m deleting my app from my phone!)

On another note, we can’t wait to meet all of the newly engaged couples in January, what an exciting season for engagements (I was proposed to on Christmas Day by this handsome guy!)

The design for Carly and Michael's wedding day was focused on being an extension of her parents home, the hosting grounds for our event. Natural elements were important to them, and these wicker baskets + organically arranged stems made for a perfect entry moment as guests made their way down the steps to dine under the twinkle lights.
