It’s been a hot minute since I did a speedy tutorial so here you go. Just in time for getting your Thanksgiving table ready here is a DIY on how to create a really cute faux, pumpkin centerpiece with wood flowers.

What exactly goes into your wedding wood flower order?
What exactly goes into your wedding wood flower order? Well, at a low-level glance:
1. Conceptualize the design - I love creating unique pieces whether they are connected to my client or something I envision. So I spend time looking at different colors and putting together a beautiful palette, thinking about the materials I will use, and the specific flowers that fit the vision.
2. Paint the flowers - Depending on the look I am going for, a flower might be dip dyed one color or swirled in a second color for depth. It may hand-painted on or it might be airbrushed in multiple colors. Then these flowers need to dry which can take anywhere from 1-2 days. This is done on a rack that allows air to circulate.
3. Flower Touch Ups - After drying flowers may need touch ups or additions like rhinestones or beading added on. Edges may uncurl so I have to go back by hand and recurl or reshape flowers as needed which can be time consuming
4. Stem the Flowers - little hot glue and add the floral wire in.
5. Create the arrangement - add my base layer of greenery to create the overall shape, add in any line flowers to create shape, add in my flowers big to small, layer the flowers on different planes to create depth, using color to make the sure the eye moves throughout the piece, then inspecting it from all angles and adding in filler to finish off the look.
6. If the flowers are being shipped, then I carefully bubblewrap the arrangement and make sure to fill space in the box so there' sno movement and its off to its new home.

I’ve been a bit quiet this past week because I took some long awaited time off from flowers and school to travel with my family to CA for my brother’s wedding in beautiful Paso Robles. Along the way we checked out LA and Disneyland and Solvang plus the beach! I’ll be catching back up with emails and contracts and all that jazz over the next few days so hang in there.I’ll be in touch soon but vacation did remind me huh nice it is to sleep a little bit more!
