Today I was able to find 3 pick ups right on my route to pick up material for work. It's crazy how much food corporations can't sell and have to discard. Over 100 sandwiches and pastries and 2 cases if groceries. Grateful companies like Wawa and Aldis make the effort to put it to use.

It was such a blessing working again with my brother Dion Cucuta at St. Paul's in Englewood NJ. Dion stepped into a calling years ago to help disabled veterans by setting up a food service mission. God has surrounded him with amazing volunteers who bag over 450 bags of food every week for distribution to the community. Table to table delivers massive donations from Hello Fresh that allow us to pack 2-3 prepacked meals in every bag. Local bakeries and retailers donate often as well so each bag has no less than 3-5 meals. It's amazing what Dion has built by just stepping into service....I wonder what he'll do with me?

Much of the help comes from local corporations who pay "volunteer" time to there workers to help. Does the company you work for offer paid volunteer time? Have you ever asked? Maybe it's time you did....ask me how to set it up where you work.

It was such a blessing today to receive nearly #300 from Whole foods In Morristown and over 150 sandwiches and pastries from Wawa in Butler. It all went to Nourish.NJ in Dover for distribution to the community. Nourish is a great organization and always looking for help. What did you do on your lunch break today? I just resued over #1000 of produce from being thrown away by Wegmans. Taking it to a food pantry fir distribution to the needy. What did yiu do with your Sunday afternoon? Contact me if your looking for ways to serve.

Mission Cuba - day #1.
Got to Miami a day early and caught a Marlins game with my brother's Ray & Jean Marie. Meeting up with the other 11 at the airport tomorrow.
Not sure how much internet I'll have there but I'll update as I can. Going to enjoy one last night in a big bed with AC.
