Welcome to my floral page! Thanks for checking it out.
To be honest, I have not always had a passion for flowers. I used to be the girl that got roses every birthday from her dad and they died within days. I was always heartbroken they never lived as long as I had hoped. I didnāt understand the idea behind flowers or plants and never understood why people were so passionate about them.
This all changed when my husband and I got married. The florist we used did floral out of her home. I was nervous, as I am a perfectionist and who doesnāt want perfect flowers on their wedding day? I was also worried that because the flowers were done out of her house, they werenāt going to be pretty. I was so wrong! Our wedding day came about and my whole vision on flowers changed. If you are reading this, Kim Fulton, thank you! Our arrangements were absolutely stunning and they didnāt break the bank! From that point on I started doing custom things for people who asked. It was so exciting for me to have others trust me with creating pieces for them.
Forward a few years later and an opportunity came about. It ended up not being for me, but the wheels started turning. I was going to start my own floral business. You probably think I am crazy right now if you are reading this. (A woman who never appreciated flowers is now wanting to own her own floral business?) Looking back, there were so many pieces to the puzzle that got me to this whole business idea. Itās always been in me, it just took the opportunity to arise to spark me in a whole different direction. I could do quality floral arrangements out of the house, helping people save money, just like our florist had years prior! I started studying the different types of flowers. I started buying myself flowers and arranging at home for family and friends. I started doing online training tools with major florists in the world and reading blog after blog on newer floral techniques. I was used to customizing things for people already so this was fun for me.
The thing that really stumped me was my business name. If I was going to do this whole floral business, I was going to name it something that would last for years to come. I wanted something that fit my personality and who I am as a creative designer.
It took me a few months to come up with the perfect name, but Whimsical Blossoms LLC. was created. The word āwhimsicalā has been in my vocabulary since I was younger. My mom and I still use that word to this day. It was very fitting for me and the direction I want this business to go. I am a firm believer that unique flowers are key. Often, we go into stores and see the same types of flowers. My goal is to use different types of flowers I get from local farms and warehouses to make floral arrangements inviting with the āwowā affect! I also plan on growing my own unique types of flowers to use in my arrangements (I know, one thing at a time!).
Now for the logo...what in the world was I going to do for this? I found a water color design, but I needed something special added to it. I needed my dogās paw print in there somewhere. Why, might you ask?...Manās best friend, truly. Koda is with me on every floral, crafting, and creative adventure. She loves to āsuperviseā and well, is very important to me. Check out my design in the right hand top corner! Iāll give you a clue: in the purple. In the future, I plan on donating to some local rescues with proceeds from the workshops I have planned. Iām all about supporting local artists and rescues!
Sitting here typing this, I think back to when I was younger and always told my parents jokingly I wanted to own my own shop. I didnāt know what I wanted in the shop, I just wanted to help make other people happy the way I felt when I went into a small town shop. I may not have the exact āshopā right now, but I am well on my way to my dreams. I did not go to school for design, nor did I go to school for floral, but with all of my creative experiences in life the past 30 years, my road has lead me to a wonderful adventure. Whether itās more traditional or out of the ordinary, I ensure you wonāt be disappointed with your floral needs. Letās chat!
Thanks for all of your love & support.
