Rex Ingram's Scaramouche, an epic tale of love and revenge wrapped by the fervor of the French Revolution, premiered 101 years ago. One year ago, Anchorage Festival of Music celebrated Scaramouche's centennial with a showing at the Bear Tooth Theatrepub with the musical score performed by live baroque ensemble. You can now enjoy the movie with the live audio (which includes audience reactions). The score is recreated from the original cue sheets and draws heavily from French music of the 18th century. Seating is limited for the Sept 14 at 7PM and Sept 15 at 4PM concert. Reserve your seat soon to hear music from a time when dragons were very real, at least in the minds of the composers and their audience. Enjoy an elegant post-concert reception with wine or non-alcoholic beverage.
