Dendrobium masarangense var. chlorinum. This is the plant I got over 7 years ago, leftover from the show that looked near dead. I did not give this guy much of the chance but it did hang in there for several years doing nothing. A few years ago, new growths started nicely, and there were very few buds here and there till this spectacular blooming - blooms are open for at least 2 months already. Pencil thin leaves, this whole plants is very tiny, more micro rather than miniature. Grown intermediate, bright light, good air movement, good quality water, weak fertilizing weekly, potted in clay pot with moss. Restrepiopsis / Pleurothallopsis monetalis - highly sought after but impossible to get these days, this one is by far my favorite in the group. As many others, I can only confirm that this plant is definitely a "challenge" to grow. Grows one or two leaves a year, drops at least one or two leaves too - my plant went down to one leaf many times in past 5+ years I grow it, and I thought for sure I'll lose it, but since I remounted on the manzanita piece last year it took off and has 5 healthy leaves blooming every couple months. This is the first time ever there are 2 buds opened at the same time on the same leaf!!! Dendrobiums from Australia - there are several species of these miniature and small Aussie Dendros that are super cute for many reasons - growing habit resembles more succulent plants with very thick fat leaves and the blooms are very nicely colored appearing may times during the year - when conditions are nailed, they bloom all the time. They are very resilient to different temperature conditions, can tolerate super high heat over 100F and go all the way down to low 50's without skipping the beat - making them perfect plants for South Florida outside year round. They grow easily on windowsills as well. Bright shade or filtered light works the best. They need very good air movement and they MUST dry out between waterings - using no moss on the mounts is the best. They hate only 1 thing, and that is OVER WATERING!!!. Scaphosepalum breve - as all Scaphosepalum orchids in my opinion, these blooms look like some kind of monster's mouth 🤣Cute small size orchid species, very easy to grow, long spikes re-bloom constantly year-round. Grows well warm to cold, in bright shade or bright filtered LED light, good air movement, high humidity but only lightly moist, not soggy wet. Plant itself is not that big but spikes are usually long so they'll need some space! Great potted in well drain mix or mounted with some moss. Great for terrarium, vivariums, windowsills, greenhouse growing and outside in proper zones.
