White flowers are so difficult to source this season. We feel very grateful to our vendor teams for all of the miracles they have been manifesting for us and our clients. These beauties are from an August wedding with at So soft and sweet.

Light through the darkness. The world is slowly reopening and restrictions are starting to lift here in Massachusetts. While we are ready, we are also proceeding with optimistic caution. Our team will be selling beautiful fresh flowers next weekend for Mother’s Day and our shop will be officially open to visitors May 1st. We do understand that some of you are still in line for second or even first rounds of vaccines, so we will continue to operate contactless and with our masks on throughout all situations. Yet, in the midst of that, community and compassion prevailed. Intimate ceremonies and elopements have been part of our design experience since I started this company. I love creating one of a kind bouquets, boutonnières, and personal details for couples who are holding these private ceremonies. They are personal and romantic, and I find them so meaningful and inspiring. This photo captures a beautiful moment right before a very intimate union in Boston, a few years ago. I really enjoyed designing for this client, she was so carefree and stayed true to her personal style and elegance. As we start to experience another tightening up on gatherings and restrictions on celebrations, I want you to remember that the magic and meaning doesn’t always lie within the party of it all...it’s the beauty and romance of the ceremony...committing yourself to each other and a whole new adventure together, against all odds, in the face of an uncertain future. It’s brilliant. It may not be what you planned...and don’t get me wrong, we love designing large, beautiful, lively celebrations....but it is just as momentous and crazy romantic.

Today the sun was shining and bright and the breeze was so wonderfully warm and light. It’s these little things, in the face of the uncertainty and immediacy that keep us hopeful. The fall blossoms pictured here are part of our offerings for the upcoming holiday, but they are also a beautiful gift option for yourself or those dear to you. Blurry bits! This color is stunning in person, but definitely difficult to capture on camera...which seems to be the wonderful issue with many things we love. It’s always a good idea to have a few bud vases at hand, when designing, to collect all of the bits and broken stems left over from your main design. Often those little collections end up becoming your favorites.

Beautiful summer blossoms on a warm July day. The COVID restrictions are easing a bit here in Massachusetts, though social gatherings will remain confined to an intimate group of revelers. Those specifics may feel like limitations but they do invite more opportunity for detailed and sophisticated designs. Some of our favorite events often involve a refined focus on a singular dining table and intimate ceremony location. Here is an opportunity to really set the scene with a floral story unique to the season and the sentiment. If the chaos of 2020 can bring us anything, it may be a refocus on the meaning and experience within our connection to others. I want our flowers to welcome and celebrate those connections for all of our clients. Please stay tuned for upcoming announcements.

Fresh flowers are healing. I’ve felt that magic more and more in all of our delivery and garden journeys since this pandemic reached Boston. Having the opportunity to hold, touch, and experience nature closely is so calming and centering. Studies have been done demonstrating the power of fresh flowers to heal and calm. From jasmine and lavender to daffodils and tulips, blossoms increase levels of positive energy and help people feel secure and relaxed. Which flowers have you been surrounding yourself with lately? Which blossoms bring you the most comfort?

Spring blossoms are so much fun to design with. Combinations of soft and bright petals liven up classic designs and bring a playfulness to the traditional. Fresh spring bulbs bring so much energy to the room. If the temperature and weather in New England were not so predictably unpredictable, I would live for this spring wedding season!

Creating beautiful sculptures with fresh blossoms is one of my favorite moments in floral design. From the first dream of the design, to the devising of the mechanics, to the final explosion of flowers...it is so so so much fun! Studio Nouveau found this space and came up with beautiful concepts and inspired so much creativity! I can not wait to share the images with you.
