My name is Sandra Kirpalani and I am a fiber artist, designer, vintage vendor and event planner. Sandrilene is a business that I have created to bring all of these offerings together. Starting in the Spring of 2023, we will start hosting First Friday, local art shows!

My mother-in-law recently gifted me this beautiful, vintage panel fabric. It originally belonged to her mother and she held onto it for at least 40 years.

Her mother had sewn a simple neck binding in and never got back to finishing it. I am a huge fan of caftans, so plan to keep going in her direction and turn this into a simple caftan dress.

I love the fabric and feel very lucky to be able to make it into something wearable. This isn’t the first gem I’ve received from my MIL. I think I hit the mother-in-law jackpot! ❤️

Finally dug up carrots from our garden yesterday. Since we already had one frost, I thought it might be too late but it was perfect!

I took a pretty hands off approach to them this year, hardly thinned them, and waited to see what would happen.

While some of them are small, many of them are regular too and we got loads! The most we’ve ever had. 🥕

I’ll use the greens to make pesto and salad. We’ll roast the carrots.

Pie of the week is the classic French Tarte Tatin. Tarte Tatin is an upside down tart with fruit and caramel. This one is apple. This is my last fall pie, as next week is the official start of winter, I will move to winter flavors. ❄️

Our Story

Hello! My name is Sandra Kirpalani and I am a chef, event planner, artist (under the name jayestar designs), designer and realtor! Sandrilene is a business that I have created to bring all of these offerings together. We are currently offering a pie club, taking individual pastry orders, planning/hosting small parties, hosting art shows, selling local art, offering design services, staging services and Realtor services. Coming in 2018 we will also be offering classes! Topics to include food, sewing, design, growing food, preserving food and cocktails. Formerly located in Omaha, Ne, we relocated to Des Moines, IA and found our location. We will be ramping up services and offerings in 2019, so check back often!!!
