Did you know in my painting “A Beautiful Mess” there is some symbolism /meaning behind some characters.
Here they are:
*Anchor- Jesus
*Rope- relationship with Jesus *Poppy- California (Family and friends)
*Octopus wrapped around Van - Finances
*Paint brush and Easel- Art business
*Whale- the heavy weight that follows
*Quiver of Arrows- Children
*Bible-Gods word
*Surfboards- what keeps us from sinking
*Wave- life
*Pearl in shell- reminds us beauty is created during times of discomfort.

Going through some of the most difficult times can bring you to the end of yourself.
But isn’t that what our father asks of us? Get out of the way son/daughter so I can come and show you my way.
I cant tell you how many times I’ve surrendered to God, but if your surrendering and still holding on to something other than that rope that connects you to your anchor, then maybe your not ready to surrender. I hear God encouraging me to just think about the beauty that’s being created out of this temporary discomfort.

Looking forward the beauty at the end of this.

Sometimes it’s really hard when you’re in a middle of a storm, but that’s when it matters the most to recall all that God has done in your life and be Thankful!! It will definitely bring you a happy heart.

I started my business in 2011, teaching paint parties longer than that. One thing I have never done is have preselected paintings to choose from each month.
Why?
Well, every party is different and I enjoy creating a painting for them to follow specifically for their day.
I do how ever have lots and lots of examples you can choose if you have no idea of what you’d like to do.

Todays Tip!
make sure to use a
party agreement when
setting up paint partys.
the time the choose
hokd them to it.
its not a suggested time.

3 days before event I always call to control time and place. Sometimes I get well it’s says 10 but let’s just allow to start at 11 Incase the painters are late. Always give customers.a 30 minute grace period but let them know, I plan my schedule around the times my customers put on their agreement. So starting on time would be very appreciated.
Your time is money especially if you have helpers.

Well, I’m pretty saddened to hear they brought Sunset Painting back without me and they are using my art for advertisement!
When we met they told me keep in touch they might bring back sunset painting later.
I did I emailed they many times and response. I asked they not use what I worked so hard to establish and they said they wouldn’t. I would not have known if a return guests emailed me asking if I’m back. So I looked and this is my art! Im grateful for all the guests that kept coming back for my class, I’m sad I’m not there to continue it, or given the chance. Well, this is definitely not Aloha on the Marriotts part.

Is it life imitating art, or art imitating life? Lol I don’t know, all I know is I’m just sitting here enjoying my little break with my homemade mocha, as my husband sleeps, since it was a night of no sleep for us. Finishing up my designs for my new collection “the journey”. This is painting one of The Journey collection. I will announce the title and story behind this. But I’m so excited to announce that me and .alicia.art are doing this the theme The Journey and creating our own interpretation of it. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with. I’m creating a Newsletter about each painting so if you’d like to be the first to be in the know, drop your email in my DMs. FYI. I personally email everyone who signs up, I don’t have an automated system. So your info will always be between me and you!

Reading a book for creatives called . Original quote says “work is love made visible”, which is so true. I decided to make it more personal and write “Art is love made visible” when I create art it’s coming from a well of love that God has put in me.

Been working on some books , one of them I just love so much. I’m honored to do it, especially since my background is in working with children with autism. I’m not done but I did get the cover done so the author can promote it.

I highly recommend this book. As a creative and believer in Christ, this book not only reaffirmed my thoughts as an artist, but opened my eyes to more of Trinity in creating. Whether you’re an artist, writer, musician, dancer, etc. this book is a simple easy read, but big in how you will move forward in creating.

-creatives rearrange materials of Earth to tell old stories in fresh ways.
In Christianity, it is our creative people that keep a finger on the pulse of the spirit.

-it is creatives the both gives voice to our suffering and imagine a world in which it is not wasted.

-life unfolds, and we can iterate and innovate on our way to something abundant and fruitful.

I always knew from a young age that this gift was not just mine. It was given by God, to keep seeing the beauty in his creation.
I’ve always told people I’m drawn to always paint joy, peace, hope. Even when I create out of suffering, I am creating the joy that comes after mourning. Why? Because in
Isaiah 61:3
To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

Aloha! I just wanted to share the progression of this now completed roof top lanai mural. I am so blessed to get this opportunity to paint for this sweet couple. It’s so funny how they found me on @thumbtack and recognized the artwork I did at the Waikiki Sky towers. I am looking to book up my 2025 calendar with murals. Ever wonder what Santa does after Christmas? I know… Me too! Here’s another renewed sunset painting with a mystery Christmas twist. What does good ole Saint Nic do after his work is done? Does he get a vacation? Where does he go? Well, living in Hawaii my first thought is maybe Santa needs to recharge his soul, so getting some Ocean and sun therapy is probably on his self-care agenda. I often come up with my ideas as I am painting. But this idea has definitely inspired some more paintings and stories. Hey kids where do you think Santa will go next? Today is one of those days. I think mainly because I’m spent, tapped out, energy flame is flickering. Trying to balance become a full-time caregiver to hubby and create art so we can eat, live and thrive has definitely been a challenge. As I learn to maneuver my way through grieving the life we had and planned. Today as I tackle more responsibility and keeping income coming in and caring for hubby, that finish line feels it keeps creeping away from me. Any of you feel like this? Well, thank God I finally gave in and bought One prayer away by @laurenfortenberrywrites. I’m on Day 3 and I just love the simplicity of this devotional and how it targets deep. I have enjoyed reading her posts and I finally decided I’m gonna get this book! Today I will start of small giving those things to God that stay in my head rent. What a blessing to teach this hula class how to paint a hula girl! The garden area was beautiful.The wind was not kind to us as it was tossing over canvases, palettes, cups.
