Matthew Brian Hinkley
10/25/1983 - 10/13/2021
Matt grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska where he eventually married his high school sweetheart Liz Hinkley (Pflug). They married at the ripe old age of 20 and 19 and moved to Florida where Matt had finished his college degree in computer animation at Full Sail University. Putting it lightly, Matt was one of the most social guys you could ever have met, and sitting behind a desk without constant interaction among people drew him towards a new career in sales. That career move eventually brought Matt and Liz to New Hampshire. There, they built their photography business, HinkleyPhoto, where they have been blessed to capture some of the most special moments of people's lives throughout New England.
Matt, Liz, and their daughter Rylee (12) have loved living on a picturesque lake in Plymouth, NH. Matt’s summers were filled with family, friends and outdoor activities galore. You could always find him boating, fishing, paddle boarding, golfing, or hiking…and of course photographing weddings nearly every weekend. He loved the slower pace of winter, when he and Liz had time to work on projects around the house or just play a game of cribbage. Most importantly though, his winters were dedicated to skiing as many days as possible. He loved bragging about reaching 100 days of skiing each year.
There were a few things that everyone who knew Matt would agree on. He loved his family above everything else. He was a great friend, in fact, persistently so. He was the kind of guy who would call you not only once, but two or three times a day just so you could catch up, chat about the last Patriots game, or make sure you jumped on your Xbox to play video games with him. Extrovert to a fault, he would strike up conversations with complete strangers and made new friends wherever he went. You could always tell he was around by his loud and infectious laugh. And he was stubborn. So stubborn, that he decided he packed his 37 years with so many fun times and memories that he could leave us all early and sit next to Jesus and wait for the rest of us slow pokes to get there.
Matt is survived by his wife (Liz) and daughter (Rylee), dad (Brian), mom (Gail), sister (Melissa) and her husband (Quinn) and their sons (Bo & Mack), grandparents (John & Dorothy Goble), and many extended family members.
A celebration of Matt’s joy-filled life will take place on Wednesday, October 20, at the Barn on the Pemi, 341 Daniel Webster Highway in Plymouth NH, from 2-5pm. Drinks and light snacks will be available. Please dress comfortably if you prefer - Matt was never a fan of suits and ties! In
lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the American Heart Association or to Rylee’s college fund.
