TGIFaculty!
Let's take a moment to look at the recent work of Laura Copenhaver, the Technical Director of the School of Performing Arts, ! Themes of chance run through the plot of THIS RANDOM WORLD, so the design team wanted to bring to life the feeling of a roulette wheel. Laura engineered, welded, and walled the tremendous, revolving, 28 foot turntable, which uses a friction drive motor to turn. Here, actors ride the rotating platform, as the run crew strikes and sets new scenes backstage.
Laura loves being a technical director and "making magic accessible for people who don't want to be in the spotlight."
Come see this feat of innovation tonight at 7:30pm at the Squires Studio Theatre.

Dr. Amanda Nelson, in the black dress, leads the cast of THIS RANDOM WORLD in a classic actors’ warm-up.
Being present in the moment, such as in preparing for a rehearsal, is all part of the larger theme of the production. “In an age of technology, when our noses are in our phone,” Nelson shares that the “play serves as a reminder: What if I had looked up..?”
Enjoy your weekend, and live in the HERE and NOW!
