I’m so honored and excited to announce that I have been invited back to speak at SHUTTERFEST! This certainly was the news I needed today as I have been feeling so unwell for weeks. For those that have been following me for some time, you know that I almost died from pulmonary embolisms (blood clots) in my lungs and heart arteries when I was on a flight coming back from Las Vegas after speaking for Nikon. For the last 5 years I have been under close care of a hematologist, pulmonologist and cardiologist taking 3 meds to keep my heart strong and clots from recurring. Two of my medications were making me sick in the recent months (the beta blockers) and after several tests - my team of doctors allowed me to stop those medicines. So for 8 weeks I had the dose lowered until I was completely off. Well, I was told this would help with the withdrawal and side effects of my body readjusting to being off a long term med but that has been far from the truth. Since the end of April - I have been barely getting through my days. Basically, I’m in a terrible withdrawal cycle. Every day, my heart races, I sweat then I am cold, I have terrible migraines, nausea, sleepless nights, puking, muscle aches, dizziness, anxiety, a weird tremor feeling in my head and depression. All while still shooting weddings, engagements, surprise proposals, teaching at conferences, speaking at a close friend’s funeral, attending graduations, preparing to take my state real estate exam and taking care of the baby. I was informed it may take up to 6 months before my body readjusts post beta blockers and I have found a great support group; but this has been one of the hardest things I have ever had to go through besides the blood clots. I pretty much feel like I have the flu times 10 every day of my life. I share this to let you all know that you can never know what someone is going through so try your best to be understanding and kind. My family has been so amazing and patient with me thankfully. Like today, they just let me lay in bed all day. I really needed that ♥️

Spread love everywhere you go and if you go anywhere, go to and see tropical beauty in the rarest form. I was stunned at the pristine gardens and numerous locations to shoot. I can’t wait to go back again this summer 📸🌴
