Luscious amaryllis for decor long beyond just Christmas
Up close and personal with this beauty, wish I knew how to add music
As a life long floral designer, holiday decorator and independent entrepreneur I found myself reflecting on the many, many years I had the pleasure of offering unique and upscale decor to my fabulous clients who supported this endeavor of mine. I loved my shop and I loved what I was asked to create to suit a particular desire in decor. But today when I finally had the opportunity to decorate my own tree at home I was incredibly sad that because of the turn in economics a few years ago (we won't discuss who is at fault there) the power of the public to support small, unique, independent business has been taken away. The wonderful, creative choices that were made available have been squelched. Small creative businesses just could not survive due to exorbitant rents, endless government paperwork and so many more trials. I miss my shop, I miss my clients. But sadly that fire to be an entrepreneur was also squelched. And believe me...it takes a fire in the gut to hit that challenge head on. I looked at the treasures I had for my tree all of which came from the exciting selections I shopped for at market for my floral boutique. I miss that as well. So to those that know me, know that I still want to spread glitter on the world and please.....stop in to support the small businesses that have survived this past challenging economy. They need you.
I wish you all a Merry Christmas....and just spread a little of that glitter around!
Floral design and creating makes my soul happy
