As a planner and designer it’s not my job to tell you “this is how it’s always done” especially when it comes to design. And I know I talk about design a lot and that’s for a few reasons:

1️⃣ Flowers are prettier than checklists (unless you’re into that kind of thing - msg me, I’ve got some great ones)
2️⃣ Planners aren’t just here for checklists (don’t come after me, but you can do that part on your own - those without planners do)
3️⃣ Design is the visual representation of your love story - it’s personal

So, if you want a view all your own, tell me your story and I help you design it. (And yes, it starts with a checklist or 2).

At the beginning of planning, we meet to discuss your design. I hear things like, “keep it simple” or “I trust your design” and can receive inspiration. Sometimes I get a list of must-haves. Budget can dictate scope, other times it’s, well, time..but when it comes to design details that make a difference we find a way.
These champagne glass scrolls were a detail the client really liked. When the budget and time met at this cross-section; we found a way! And when the couple got to see them setup and you hear “it looks like Pinterest”, is the best response.
I want to hear it all, because we find a way!

Take the pause, feel the feeling, it’s fleeting. Too often we rush because we are anticipating the next moment so we miss what’s happening right then.

Here it is, the last moment you were a fiancée.

I say it all the time, “details matter”. This is because there are many things you can spend money on and the value is lost when it is without intention. Find ways that are personal to you to add that special touch to your design. This couple had their elementary students write their thoughts on what love is and used those in their centerpieces 🤍 it was such a sweet touch and brought so much joy to everyone, young and old, that got to read these messages.

- you don’t have to have 2nd graders draw you pictures, but use those engagement pictures to personalize your table numbers, bar signs, napkins, etc. you’ll be glad you did.

Of course this would have been a great opportunity to share a photo of the cute wedding day pups, but I wanted to give a shout out to the awesome dogs that are part of the BTS. This is Mack, and he’s my squishy-face. He reminds me to take breaks, sometimes even demands it.

As I redefined who FPE is and reorganized the business, it just made sense as this business is not only improved, but made anew.

How wonderful it is to get to be a wedding and event planner.
