It is the end of an era for the Pollinate Boys.

In about a week, Zach will be beginning a brand new, very exciting chapter on his life journey. Watch out Chicago because he’ll be arriving in your beautiful city ready to make his mark! And we are so excited for him! 🙌

Almost exactly 7 years ago, the universe brought the three of us together at a time when we all needed a new chapter. Together, we turned the little farm that Jeremi and I had been attempting to build for years prior into a legitimate business. We worked on so many fun, new, and exciting things over the years…I can’t even begin to list them all. We had the cheek, the nerve, the gall, the audacity, and the gumption, baby. 💋

But the story of a lifetime is a story full of chapters or seasons or phases or eras. Change is the constant. Change allows for perspective shifts, for new opportunities, for growth. And so we each look to the future, while enjoying these last few days of the present, with our past cemented and the positive impacts made on each other, lifelong.

Please join us in sending Zach off with your best wishes as he prepares for his new adventure in the Windy City! We love you, Zach! ✨

Happy autumn planting season! It’s the best time of year to plant trees, shrubs, and perennials in Portland & the Willamette Valley.

Plant now through October when the soil is warm but the nights are cool. Water them until the rain returns then forget about them until spring! They’ll spend the winter growing roots and getting themselves established in their new home. Way less transplant shock than springtime planting. 🌳🌲🌿

Autumn planting season has arrived in the PNW and we are back at it this month developing our perennial-based floral foraging garden in Milwaukie. Many of the species we grow in this garden will be used in future floral designs to add that touch of uniqueness and seasonality that make our floral designs stand out! 🌿

Portland was exposed to a second round of the Gianna Rea fantasy last night at Darcelle XV and we are liiiiiving for it!!! The energy of her performance was contagious and the crowd loved every minute! 💋

The shade of it all! ⛅️

Zach and I installed a brand new shade garden behind our garage today. Oregon cottage garden magic. Small shrubs, perennial flowers and ground covers. Nine PNW native species. Cut flower species. Multiple low growing babes keeping the ground protected from the sun. Edible species. Ferns because Oregon. A couple species simply because they are f*ing gorgeous. Twenty seven total species.

Soon to be a thriving pollinator, bird, insect, fungi, microbe habitat in the middle of a suburban landscape where abundance of life is limited, but if you look closely - life is everywhere - just waiting for us to make a better home for it in these square lots of lawn. We’re reimagining suburbia. 🌿

Leap Day 2012: gay marriage was illegal, but we wanted to spend our lives together despite the odds against us. One delicious, fancy dinner and a silly ornamental grass braided ring later - we were illegally engaged!!

Back at Nostrana tonight, same restaurant, 12 years later to the day that Jeremi said yes. Legally married. Happy AF. We still doin’ it!!! 🍾

This month has been very good for us at the farm. Beautiful weather, lots of spring flowers, and a fantastic team of humans working hard to get the garden set for summer. It’s not always easy but it is a true pleasure to spend our days growing lovely flowers for our local community. Madoka captured some of the highlights of the month, check it out! 🌿
