Performing Arts Center for African Cultures, Inc., (PACAC) exists to promote a better understanding of the various African cultures in a fun and interesting learning environment. The Center focuses on authentic African music; rhythms and Dances of antiquity, and storytelling. We showcase a wide array of indigenous musical instruments, and the colorful traditional outfits necessary for a better und

erstanding and proper appreciation. Our goal is to safeguard, cultivate, and share the performing arts heritage, and the ongoing creativity of the various African cultures with all who are interested to benefit. These forms of expressions, their meanings, values, and aesthetics that are embodied in them, offer many benefits ranging from physical, educational, spiritual, to social. Our sole objective is:

• To educate people about a variety of indigenous African Cultures using the Performing Arts.
• To disseminate information about Africa to first generation Americans born of African parents.
• To help foster a multicultural appreciation for the African Culture and the universal ties of fellowship, good will and hope that unites all peoples globally.
• To be a hub for indigenous African Artists interested in exposing their work to the American public, and the rest of the world.
• To provide a learning center for Africans in the Diaspora and to those interested in the African Culture. We offer a wide array of Programs such:

• African Drumming Lessons
• Drum Circles
• African Dance
• Storytelling
• Besa Workout – An African-oriented aerobic exercise and dance.
• Modern African Dances like, Azonto.
• After School Programs focusing of African Traditions and Customs
• Special Family Events
• Resident African Drumming and Dance Company - Fritete
• Private Lessons on different indigenous African Instruments.
• Africa Art Exhibitions
• Fashion Shows

Over the years, there’s been a rising renewed interest about the Continent of Africa with special emphasis on the lifestyles of her different peoples. This interest also comes with a considerable amount of confusion and misunderstanding based on inaccurate information. PACAC, an organization that is knowledgeable and strategically positioned, is a good place to start the journey of learning about the various Cultures and Traditions of Africa. Join us and BESA in celebration of Juneteenth!

This is an exercise program with forms and techniques created from African dances. “BESA” is an Akan (Ghanaian) word meaning “come dance”. This aerobic exercise is a great cardio workout for ALL AGES.
