Story of the Sprout
Once upon a time, a boy named Milad and a group of friends hopped in their cars and went on a journey to Lighting in a Bottle. The caravan, 15 cars strong, drove into the festival only to be separated and sent into huge disarray. Somehow they all found each other in Bass Camp, at the Sprout patch, where one of his friends decided he needed a small vertical ponytail to stay cool in the desert heat. And thus, he had sprouted for the first time.
This Sprout has always loved music (he grew up on Kanye West and screamo), as well as community, so it’s no surprise that he finds himself today as a DJ and event producer for the Afternoon Umbrella Friends, a care-free group of friends from San Diego that are passionate about sharing the good times with anyone who will join them.
Working as a software engineer during the daytime, Sprout has a knack for efficiency and productivity, and is always getting the most bang for his buck when it comes to effort. He listens to insane amounts of music and enjoys almost every genre- both a blessing and a curse. This has required him to develop processes that allow him to stay on top of the newest releases from multiple music scenes, and to deliver a diverse selection no matter what type of event he’s asked to play. Whether he’s playing underground bass music, house, techno, dubstep, trap, drum & bass, or hip-hop, you can be sure that the tracks he’s dropping will get you moving. If you need a high energy set to get the night going at your next event, Sprout is your man.
