As a hopeless romantic I see beauty all around us. It often inspires me to compliment an arrangement with other natural elements such as herbs, branches, and yes even the occasional fruit or veggie. The goal is simple really, creatively weaving each stem into an expression of who you are. That is the beautiful magic I want to create.

It’s flat lay Friday over here. This one hits all of my feels. So much so I can’t open the gallery sent over to us from the bride, ! This day had so much love put into it. We were still riding the emotional high days later.

For now, we’ll share the flat lay and as we brave opening the amazing gallery with incredible talents we will share more!

Flat lay Friday!

Fun fact, I always make sure to order a little extra flower love for our photographers. Flat lays are one of my favorites. The best is when the photographer nerds out with us over the flowers! We’re just a giant team on wedding day.

I can’t decide what I love more about this photo? The people in it? That bouquet? The bulldog as a groomsman? The lighting? (HELLO Golden Hour)

Taylor (and Mikey) stole my heart right out the gate. She’s everything I pray Kennedy embraces in her adult life. Taylor’s love of life, travel, family, and coffee is contagious. I am pretty lucky that I get to become friends with a lot of my brides.

Total before markup, materials, time and delivery: $132.50

Now take the base cost ($132.50) x 3 for markup =$397.50
X .35 for time, material, and delivery giving us a grand total: $536.75 per centerpiece.

I’m learning that knowledge is power. Knowing our worth is power. We’ve really started leaning into the “simple math” of our little flower business. Taking emotions out of the equation. We’ve also had more “no thank you or we’ve gone with another florist” than we’ve ever had before. It’s been a hard lesson but worth it. Here’s to a season of learning.

It’s that time again! Mailbox swag season. Spots are filling up fast. Starting next Monday 12/4, we will be doing mailbox swag installs. Lots of varied pine, magnolia, eucalyptus, pine cones, berries! You know, all the gorgeous natural vibes.

Emotional lady post about to go down…

This beautiful human (and her beautifully maned man) is a huge part of my Mom life story. As many of you may know Kennedy, our daughter was born 16 weeks early. That season of my life was challenging, scary, completely uncharted. The doctors kept telling us, “if she survives the first 48 hours she will be incredibly sick or have many health issues. And to prepare ourselves.” That night Brandon and I shared our intense love story. She kept saying, D just gets me. He’s my person but people think we are rushing it. Brandon and I agree when you know, you just know.

The night Kennedy entered the world this woman was the very first person to lay eyes on her. She also (I believe) is why my daughter is here today. (But God) Alaina, not only personally rushed me down to the OR but verbally assaulted (in the most professional way) the surgeon to get their a$$ down there. The surgeon was trying to put us back in our room and wait because there was another case in front of me. Her persistence, her “lady balls of steel” allowed Kennedy to enter this world.

She is the last of the L&D/NICU crew to marry. When she told me the big news she lead with, “you have to do my bouquet.” The answer is and will always be YES! you are my hero and one of Kennedy’s walking angels here on earth! We love you and D. Thank you will never be enough!

Side note: this dress… 🤤 I would live in it!

They’re cooler than I’ll ever be! Also, ‘s black wedding dress makes me want to consider a second wedding to B. Ya, know “til death” and such. OBSESSED is an understatement.

Feels weird typing this but here we are. Holiday wreath workshops and holiday party dates are booking up super fast this season. A lot of friends have (over the years) turned these workshops into part of their holiday traditions. It’s a ton of fun, super creative, and even at times can get competitive.

To answer a few common questions, we supply everything, we recommend about two hours, cost is $65 per person, we come to you, and we can host (comfortably) around 20 people.

Hi, it’s me. How are my wedding vendor friends surviving? Living the dream? Barely holding on? The answer is YES!

So incredibly grateful this is my life. Also, missing my family.

I’m also a little crazy and I’ve been taking some online courses to re-train my business brain. The HUGE morsel I’ve taken with me from these courses is, “stop attaching self worth to pricing. Pricing is simple math. It is exactly what it is.” Totally guilty y’all. I’m the worst with imposter syndrome. I’ve quoted large scale “mega weddings” at a low low cost, no sleep and days away from my family, because I’m afraid if I quote it correctly they won’t want me. The truth of it, clients are reaching out because they believe in our talents and our work. The moral of this story is my time, my teams time, and you as a client deserve the best. Cheaper is not always better. So moving forward I’m applying these courses to my business, keeping the math simple and taking self worth out of it. Creating boundaries, saying and/or accepting “no’s” is/are also okay.

I’ve spoken with several flower friends all over the world and this seems to be an uncomfortable topic for all of us. Thanks for letting me ramble on and on about this. 🖤-Shawna

Y’all, this week we’ve been playing catch-up on all things office work, emails, quotes/proposals, WEBSITE, the list goes on and on. That being said, our fall schedule is pretty packed out BUT our 2022 schedule is basically empty. Soooo, in honor of #weddingwednesday let’s rectify this with a June special.
