Our Merstory: The beginning of Mermaid Wishes
Being a mermaid has always been a dream of mine and my mother’s. I have been swimming since I was 4 months old and I would always pretend that I was a mermaid when I was playing in the water with my friends. My mom made all of my mermaid tails for me for as long as I can remember! When I turned 15, I started thinking about what I wanted to do for a living. I wanted something different, something that I would enjoy and love to do everyday. So then I though, why not be a mermaid? My mom thought it was a great idea too, so we both worked together making new beautiful mermaid tails, headpieces, dancing routines in the water with mermaid tails on, and doing birthday parties, and other events. I was really nervous the first few times because I was worried no one would like what I did. After doing a couple of birthday parties and our first performance in a festival event, I grew comfortable with what I did and really saw the beauty of it. I was making kids and adults dreams come true! There will be a lot of bumps along the way, but I will continue to work hard for what I love and hopefully, continue to make many more dreams come true.
