Black moon tonight ! Look for the sharp crescent in the Southwest Aug 2 !!

Today is the last day of a long July; and we have a Black Moon tonight; which means the Second New moon in a month period; which is the opposite of a "Blue moon" which of course is the Second Full moon in a month. With a very powerful telescope, you would be able to see a dark gray face of the moon as it sets at 9PM in the West, but for the rest of us, the Earth completely blocks the Sunlight from the moon. As always a sharp crescent will emerge Aug 2 and create a Fingernail" or Lunula shape for great photo opportunities at Sunset in the Southwest. Enjoy !

The weekend will be roasting, but it will not be as humid... thanks to some dry air that is following a high pressure system that has pushed Barry, out-of-the-way however we wil still be 50/50 some pop-up storms from system tomorrow. We picked up four tenths of an inch of rain today 3 temps yesterday, it's almost an inch of very much-needed rain this week as the grass is starting to turn yellow from the lack of. Otherwise it will be dry, and our next best chance of rain is Monday night. Highs will be in the mid-90s for Friday Saturday and Sunday, so please; even though it will not be as humid; it will still be anguishing hot, so stay cool... and check on the pets.... keep them inside in the AC .... check on Grandfolks keep them inside and in the AC; and limit your time Outdoors. Nighttime and Dusk temperatures will be in the mid-70s, and the mornings will warm quickly, so... oh yes.. it's still a heatwave. Two quick changes to announce . on the 21st, the constellation Leo will set in the West so that will be our horoscope, and if you are following the Native American horoscope, the Salmon is the spirit animal for July 21st. The Big Dipper will be very obvious in the Northwest and Jupiter is very very bright in the south. Sunrise will be 6 p.m. and the sunset will be 8:30. Lastly,
Tomorrow... I will share a post about a block party on Saturday for back to school and I will also be announcing some plans for gatherings at the Selfie Star this year. Enjoy !

In order for us to continue sports, weather, and our work for the youth; the stations of Woof-167 and Irina-AM are looking for a grant, or an investor to total $150,000 to expand to Broadcasting sports; a district website, with statistic for all male and female athletes, an AM station in Verona to cover the games and a broadcasting curriculum with scholarships to students wanting to pursue broadcasting as a career (JMU)… and a project for athletes to sponsor animals for adoption. The project will not only benefit the kids and youth; to further their careers in athletics for college opportunities via the taping and coverage of the games; but will help the business community greatly by offering sponsorships and effective advertising for getting their products and serves in front. It will also allow Steve to design, lay-out and work on finding funding for the his work on the SWR Center; a future sports facility for our local athletes and their sports, as well as a practice center for Christian schools and much needed indoor track, skating rinks, and softball fields. Promotional items such as bumper stickers, T shirts and plate frames will make this venture viral! Virginia made products from Woof will also support the projects, as well as the library of Steve’s sunset pictures placed on sale.
