4/8/2024 or 4/8/24. The date of the eclipse. An interesting number sequence. 48/2=24. 24 hrs in a day. 4x2=8, 2x2=4. It feels like there’s something there. And as I’ve mentioned elsewhere, “April eclipse” sounds a lot like “apocalypse”. Apparently, there are people who think that the actual apocalypse is tomorrow. But I mean, how many times have we heard that, right? There’s always an oncoming apocalypse and we continue on. Granted, the present state of the world does make it feel a little more likely lol.
Anyway, here are some “staves” using the numbers of tomorrow’s Gregorian calendar date.

Our primary energy centers and their relation to the brain.
It’s been a minute since I jotted down anything in my Magickal pocket journal. This one felt important.
So, I devised or discovered a chakras system that differs from the widely accepted Western one. Rather than a rainbow, it goes red-blue-yellow (gold), inspired by the colors used in the art and design of ancient cultures. The root, solar plexus, and throat retain the same colors that they have in the modern system, interestingly.
Initially, when using this, I came to believe that the crown isn’t a “chakra” at all but rather the entry-exit vortex of our personal energetic or electromagnetic bubble. Then, the other day, I got thinking about how the same is probably true of the root. Furthermore, it is revealed in Kabbalah that Kether (crown) and Malkuth (root) are interlinked. One is a continuation or instance of the other. We are a continuous circuit. With that in mind, it makes sense that in my system, both are red. The only red center that could be considered a proper chakra, i.e. energy center, would be the heart. And if you know your chakras, you know that the heart also projects its own energetic field. So that’s perfect!
Yesterday, it occurred to me that there is a direct correlation to our brains. The amygdala, the lizard brain, controls our instinctual responses. Just like the root. The limbic system, our mammal brain, controls emotion. Just like the heart. And the neocortex is the seat of logic and rational thought. It is what sets us apart from animals. It controls consciousness. Just like the crown.
There is a standard meditation practice wherein we begin at the root, pull energy up along the spine (or via each chakra, which accomplishes the same thing) and up through the crown. This is also how raising kundalini works, to an extent.
There are many who see the connection of higher consciousness with the spine and, ultimately, the brain. Activation of higher function.
Perhaps we initialize and activate our minds, section by section - lizard, mammal, human - when we do this.
Like the old hermetic saying says, All Is Mind. 🧠

Hellboy fan art. A month or so ago, my long-unused Xbox turned itself on. I decided to look at available games and saw there is a Hellboy game called Web of Wyrd. Which is interesting to me because I do contract web design and development work under the name of WyrdWeb . Weirder still, the name of the publisher is Good Shepherd. And I am Levi Sheppard. I feel like there’s some nudge from the universe here. While I’m figuring it out on the back burner, I decided to do some fan art based on all that. The urge to create has been strong, so it was nice to shake the rust off a bit.

Happy day of souls. These images are from my Halloween workings. The first shot is a tin cup with water in it. Glancing into it, it appears very much like a full moon. I burned an orange candle and a black candle in two little teacups as well. The black one burned down to nothing very quickly, leaving - oddly enough - the impression of a crescent moon. 🌙
Third img is my Hekate shrine, modified with the aforementioned candles.

I asked the Blackbird Lenormand, what’s the deal with this whole UAP situation?
The Tower…and more specifically, a pyramidion looking suspiciously like the Washington Monument in D.C. A symbol of government and Freemasonry alike. Cute.
Look, it even has little UFO flying around it. Presumably birds but who knows, they’re in silhouette. 😸

Ariel. With the resurgent interest in The Little Mermaid, I found myself pondering the name Ariel, and not for the first time.
There is, throughout occult history, an angel by that name (sometimes a demon, depending on the source). This particular entity popped up a number of times throughout the course of my marriage, from beginning to end. So I had reason to give it some thought.
If you break down the word “Ariel”, you get “Ari”, which is Hebrew for “Lion”, and “El”, which is both a name of God and as a more general term can mean god, lord, etc. Indeed, Ariel the angel is symbolized by a lion and the common accepted translation is “lion of God”. But it occurred to me, one could also translate that as…
“Lion King”.
Haha!
So basically, my point here is that the star of Disney’s The Little Mermaid is a girl named Lion King.

A quick Lenormand-Tarot cross comparison reading. They both feature the Sun in the third slot. And interestingly, Ten of Cups can be “the place you live”. Which is exactly what a House is.
If it didn’t sound absurd, I’d say it’s telling me that “Phoenix is hot as f**k but don’t worry, you’ll survive the summer”.

Well, it’s gotta mean *something*! Two intriguing finds on my walk the other day - a Pokémon card depicting Gothorita, which is basically my “divine feminine” in cartoon form and a saffron colored candle in a neat little hippy mandala tin.
Perhaps Hekate has a sense of humor? Or Lilith. (My first instinct being Hecate because of the candle color.)
Gotta catch ‘em all.

Merry Christmas/Yule altar. Moved my beloved Hekate to the first shelf, surrounded by appropriate symbols, and placed Slavic Santa on the top. Second shelf is secular holly-jolliness.

So, right after I posted my thoughts regarding the S rune, Sowilo, I go to walk the dog and this is directly in my path.
I was just reading one account of Odin’s origin, stating that he was a man named Sigge who took the name Odin after finally settling down in Scandinavia, and after installing his sons as kings of various lands he came across in his travels through germania and Scandinavia. The reason this is relevant is that the S rune is also called “Sigel” and variations thereof. SO, Sowilo could be a forgotten rune of Odin as well.
This would equate Odin with the Sun, which actually makes sense in the context of Jupiter also being an ancient solar deity. People have always equated Odin with Mercury but I think Jupiter/Zeus makes far more logical sense, what with them both being the All-Father and king of the gods etc.
Granted, Thor is the lord of lightning and thunder in the Norse pantheon and he was the primary deity before Odin even came along, eventually supplanting Thor’s earlier status.
But I digress.

Lilith, the unholy mother. The OG (original goddess) known by so many names, titles, words, and feelings.
This is one of the many versions that I’ve started of this piece. See my previous post for comparison to a beautiful altar piece of Hekate that I recently acquired. The background isn’t quite done in this shot but there is a moon back there, as it is an important symbol of Lilith and Hecate alike.
One day, I’ll get this concept “right” (or left, haha) and make prints of it.
Praise Lilith! Hail Hekate! Etcetera. 🖤

One of the mind boggling shots coming outta the Webb telescope. And yes, it looks a bit like a Cosmic Bu****le. ON A MORE SERIOUS NOTE…the dynamic movement apparent in this still image of an ever-spiraling galaxy, 247 million light years away, is nothing short of phenomenal. I love how the outer arms bend off in the opposite direction of the inner. There’s just so much to interpret here!
