To kick off Pride Month, we want to give a big shout-out to our partner . Helmed by Danny and Lorenzo, their food truck started as a fun way to make money for a trip to Disney World. When they realized how many people loved their tacos, they hit the ground running and decided to pursue their gig full time. Danny and Lorenzo remain deeply dedicated to supporting and celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community in LA and beyond, and so we would like to show them some love in return. Stay safe and happy Pride!

Today is International Plastic Free Day and we wanted to shout out some of the amazing sustainability efforts our partners are making♻️❤️

1.Gnarly Vines Truck uses all eggs and some proteins from their family farm Gnarly Vines Farm in their recipes. They are also a no-waste farm!!
2.Kush by Saba uses chinaware at indoor pop-ups as opposed to disposables!
3.Hometown Poke with their Biodegradable Serving Bowls!!!
4.Uhlman’s Ice Cream’s cows are from a local dairy farm in Framingham MA and have installed energy-efficient generators
5.Nuchas Truck is Electric producing zero emissions while operating :)
6.Bees and Thank You opened a bee sanctuary in 2020 and uses their local honey in all grilled cheeses. They have also been known to give out seed packets with every grilled cheese.

Today for World Baking Day, we wanted to shine a light on some of our beloved partners and their delightful baked goodies!

First, we have Peace, Love, and Dough. In addition to providing delectable baked creations for over a decade, Lisa Costas has partnered with the Together We Can Community Resource Center to offer resources and educational opportunities to the communities of Jackson Heights, Corona and Elmhurst, Queens.

At Captain Cookie DC Kirk Francis isn’t Captain Cookie for nothing. He grew up in Oklahoma cherishing Sunday bakery trips with his father. Now when asked Why cookies? Kirk simply says, “Joy…to make someone’s day better, and then they go spread that around.”

Last but not least the team at Cupcake and a Smile —Sherndell Carr firmly believes dessert heals all wounds. With her sons’ support, the family operation delivers a bit of sweetness for Houstonians in the form of perfectly sculpted cupcakes.

This Friday, we are craving frosting! Carrie Carella, a former bartender turned passionate baker, transformed her love for unconventional flavors into a thriving venture known as Nora Cupcake Company. Despite viewing baking as a mere hobby, Carrie’s creative journey led her to collaborate with fellow “restaurant renegades”, ultimately materializing her dream at their inaugural establishment in Middletown, CT. Nora Cupcake Company boasts an impressive array of over 300 distinctive flavors, exemplified by creations like the Irish Car Bomb—a delightful concoction featuring a rich Guinness chocolate cake paired with Bailey’s-infused frosting.

Leo and Aoommie founded Mochi Dolchi to share their love of bring an authentic Asian experience to their children and community. Mochi Dolci, meaning “sweets” in Japanese and Italian, symbolizes the couple’s blend of heritage and commitment to community unity.

This week, we honor our Chicago-based partner . First generation Mexican immigrant Ulysses Salamanca started his business to pay homage to the traditional dishes he grew up enjoying. He remembers watching his mother spend hours in the kitchen, preparing all kinds of salsas and meats for the family to enjoy. Flash Taco serves up delicious tacos and juicy burritos alongside their homemade salsas. For Ulysses, it is important that each bite captures the essence of Mexico, and allows the flavors to transport guests from Chicago into the rich history of Mexican cuisine.

Today, Paleta Please offers a delightful mix of nostalgia and philanthropy, serving coconut, mango, and strawberry paletas, alongside beloved character bars and ice cream sandwiches. However, more than a dessert vendor, it’s a conduit for joy and change. Jesenia and husband, Chris, founded in 2015, building homes, schools, and hope in Cancun, Mexico. Their passion extends beyond events; they invite groups to join the mission, turning every paleta into a step towards a better future. Food Fleet is honored to be in partnership with Jesenia and support Siestas for Fiestas’ crucial mission.

Ever had a taste of Uzbek cuisine? Look no further than our partner , the only Uzbek food truck on the West Coast. Since 2016, Suriya Yunusova and her daughter Ansal have been gifting Seattle residents with a taste of their homeland. The most popular menu item is their speciality samsas, a crispy, flaky handheld pie filled with meat and roasted vegetables. Cumin figures strongly into each dish, especially their plov, which is a fried rice dish mixed with raisins and garbanzo beans topped with tender chunks of halal beef.
