Have you shared happiness with someone lately? Even though I am a florist and flowers seem to be always involved, it doesn't have to include flowers... =)
This background picture was taken at the Lincoln Park Conservatory in downtown Chicago, and is a perfect snippet of some "happiness shared", since I visited it with my husband for our anniversary last year. This was an easy share though, since we both like plants =)
But even if it isn't an easy share and feels awkward, don't keep happiness to yourself. Do your best to share it, and in doing so you might just make someone else's day a little lighter... a little brighter.
I almost ran out of room to label the variety of in this bouquet... =)
As a floral designer, I have to say that I am not a huge fan of spray-painting your florals.
I LOVE to showcase a flower's natural beauty, if at all possible. =)
However, here are a few scenarios that might call for a floral-safe spray paint or the sourcing of pre-painted product:
- if my client leans more artistic than natural, and desires something funky
- on a dried floral product
- when flowers come in the wrong tone and it will throw off the design aesthetic
..all that really matters is that I have a satisfied client at the end of the day =)

The exception to this statement is the Ghost Plant (look it up, it is petty crazy!)
However, there is no exception for the man. One may survive, but living is different.

As awesome as owning a business is, it can also be rough sometimes.
Everything seems important... and you will inevitably "mess up" along the way.
That's why I make sure that I am always going back to the truth. I can't be scared of what others will say about certain business decisions..., or whether they approve of my operational practices, or like my design style.
One thing I CAN be confident in is that I was created to love God and be loved my Him.
Everything else gets filtered through that =)
I've been getting a lot of requests for lavender, purple and sage recently. Such a soft, romantic combo =)
If you want those desert vibes... this is definitely the way to go!
