It is such a beautiful day to be outdoors! Just finished painting at the Sykesville Farmers Market - it was quite a busy day! It was only after I got home did I realize my video I filmed this morning never uploaded. Doh!

It looks like Hurricane Debby will be moving on by the weekend and leaving us with beautiful moderate temps.

This would be a great time to get outside and enjoy the final weekends of summer break. Come see me at the Downtown Sykesville Farmers Market this Sunday from 9-1. The market has different vendors week to week and some that are there every weekend - so come out and see if there’s anything new!

I will be in a different location this Sunday, down the hill and closer to the bridge and train tracks. To find me, keep an eye out for my purple and white pinstriped canopy!

I love having repeat visitors to my booth! This was a creation that was designed by the client. she wanted ocean waves that were the color of her dress and a tropical sun. No flowers, no dolphin, no mermaids, no rainbows. But today glitter was ok. She was very specific in her wishes and she loved the end result.

(((I think she’s hoping this will send the adults in her life a hint that she needs to go to the beach really soon.)))

On This is only her second face paint in her life and I think she’s a natural!

Come visit me and my lovely assistant, BrookeLynn, at Rockburn Branch Park in Elkridge for free face painting from 6-8. Pack some chairs and a picnic blanket and enjoy the free outdoor concert - classic rock. I am listening to the rehearsal and singing along to all the songs….. does that make me classic, too? (No don’t answer that!)

I am tucked behind the old white historic Clover Hill building, adjacent to the stage.

Some photos from HoCo Pride at Color Burst Park 2024 yesterday - I did a quick pop up and made a very small, portable travel case. While it felt odd not to have all my supplies, and there were a few requests I wish I had different cakes and sponges (I didn’t bring any sponges with me other than daubers), I was enjoying the challenge of thinking outside the box on how to paint certain requests with limited materials. No signs, no design board, just me and a few paints and a shawl that doubled as a sit-upon.

All I had to do was sit down, open my paints, and start on one child……

Then, like the Pied Piper, the children came.

Tomorrow is the day! Sykesville Pride is happening from 12-4 pm and I will be providing FREE face painting.

As a cautionary word, if the attendance of this year's event is anything like last year, realistically I will be closing my line around 3pm-ish so that those standing in line can get painted by 4. I will be passing out vouchers to those in line so that there are no opportunities for those "just one more" who would like to cut in once the line is closed. (

I am honored to be invited to paint the public (free to public) for a cause that is near and dear to my heart. Mark your calendars for June 6th for a concert at Rockburn Branch Park, hosted by Howard County government.

The intent of this event is to bring attention and awareness to mental health and PTSD issues that our military (veterans, service, and their families) face through entertainment, art, and sharing stories of hope and healing.

I had the privilege of face painting a beautiful princess today in honor of her 8th birthday. We collaborated on her design choices (it was mostly her) and she wanted “all the sparkles” so I even glittered her hair and the tips of her arms.

I hope her special day was as magical as she is!
