Announcement:
First let me say thank you. Thank you to all of the volunteers, performers, artists, teachers, speakers, musicians, fans and just all around amazing people that have been a part of BeeKind CommUNITY, especially those that remember and/or participated in Occustock. I love you and I'm so grateful for you.

The last 3 years since returning to Indiana and trying to get this going again have been challenging to say the least. We count on partnerships with local businesses, we don't get grants, and we are 100% volunteer myself included. Between finances (lack of), personal health issues, and everyone just struggling to get by, we have decided to transfer our 501c3 status to another local non-profit that's getting things done in the area. Both as a group and an individual, we support wholeheartedly the endeavors of this group, and more info on them will come as the year goes on and things get squared away.

As for BeeKind, we will still be around. Small events could be possible with a good team. Reach out via message if that interests you. But for now, we had a good run with the fests back in the day, and although we only managed to pull off a handful or so of events since 2020, I feel like we tried our best, and it's time to walk away and be proud of what we've accomplished. Nearly a ton (literally) of food collected along with cash, community garden, community events, and more.

Thank you for being a part of my dreams. Time for the next chapter.

Katie

Our Story

BeeKind CommUNITY (Formerly known as Occustock) is a registered nonprofit in Evansville, IN that focuses on community, local and fresh food, and sustainable living while promoting local musicians, artists, and artisans. Our theme is “feed the people” and all proceeds after the event expenses go directly back into the community, no salaries are taken. We are a 501c3 non-profit and donations are fully tax deductible.

During our 3 day annual music festivals in the past we hosted some of the best regional performers, bands, local artists and artisans, and food vending was all local restaurants and individuals. Workshops were available for free to all attendees and included everything from sustainable living and upcycling to kids science and music classes.

The very roots of Occustock began in 2012 in Edinburgh, IN with a small venue and less than a hundred attendees. Over the years the event relocated to the Evansville area grew astronomically to the successful events of 2014 and 2015 with several hundred in attendance. Thousands of dollars in proceeds and over 2000 pounds of food were collected for the Tri-State Food Bank during these events.

Our vision now includes a much larger year round plan, and the ability to help the community on a more encompassing scale. We will be holding music and art based events, workshops, classes, single day events, and dinners throughout the year. #FeedThePeople
