Outlaw Outdoors Fishing tournaments is our business! We produce and promote fishing tournaments in Texas & Louisiana Prior to 6 years ago, we were just tournament fishermen.
(36)

Like all other competitive anglers, we spent all week looking forward to the weekend and fishing a tournament. We are very fortunate that Lake Sam Rayburn offers tournament anglers the opportunity to fish in a tournament about 40 weekends a year. Just like any 'addict' has a hard time going without a 'fix', tournament anglers can't stand to go a weekend without an opportunity to compete. We starte

d noticing several weekends where we didn't have anything to fish on Rayburn. This is where Outlaw Outdoors came into existence. We started out as just a couple putting on a tournament for a few of our buddies, but with both of us having extensive experience in event planning and production, and as the tournaments became more and more popular, we realized there might be an opportunity to take our tournaments to the next level. We will ALWAYS be about the fishermen, and we've made it our goal to always put the fishermen first. After all, without the fishermen, what do we have? We strive to run not only an efficient registration process, but a quick weigh in. We understand after a long day on the water, you don't want to stand around waiting on a long, drawn out awards process. You want to get your check and get home. We make that happen.

The CAST for Kids event is coming up this Saturday at Cassels Boykin. THEY NEED BOAT CAPTAINS. Don't be intimidated by volunteering. Each kid will be acompanied by an adult so you're basically just a boat driver, and you'll help them fish. These kids don't care if they catch bream, catfish, crappie or bass...they just love being on the water for a couple hours! We will start putting kids in boats about 8:00 and they'll stay out for a couple hours fishing and then come back and weigh in their biggest fish. As a captain, you'll easily be done by noon. If you can do this Saturday morning, click on this link and sign up. If your wife or friends want to come also, there is also a need for shore volunteers. Come spend a half a day with some kids and you'll remember it for a long time!

Not a lot of people know the close connection between Outlaw Outdoors and Roger Bacon. We’ve known Roger for a long time - way before OO ever existed. In the early days, we knew him just as a good dude that was a guide on Rayburn. Later on, Roger made the decision to sell his guide business, get a “real job”, and went to work for Sunbelt Sales as a sales rep. If you knew Rog, you know he was made for this job!

When we started OO, Clint spent a lot of time visiting with Roger about tournament “stuff.” He not only had business sense, but he had tournament experience. Roger was a vital piece of the puzzle getting OO off the ground.

Fast forward 3 years, OO had grown to averaging about 100 teams/tournament. We got a phone call from Roger saying it was time we talk about a sponsorship. We were floored. He repped major brands such as Costa, HUK, Gill, Falcon, Big Bite, etc. At that time, we already had V&M, but we really feel like this is the day that put OO on people’s radar. That business relationship continued to grow over the next several years, and we still have a few of those brands onboard with us today.

A funny tidbit that hardly anyone knows - Rogers daughter, Lawren, was employee #1 for Outlaw Outdoors. Back in the day when she was going to school at Sam Houston University, we kinda served her second family to her during the week while she was at school. When OO grew to the point we couldn’t handle everything ourselves, we cohersed Lawren into working for us on tournament day. She worked for us a year or two, basically until she graduated and went to the real world.

Roger, you’ll be missed ol’ buddy. Not sure I’ll find anyone else to have some of those long conversations that we would have

to November of 2016 and the Big Bass Turkey Chase. This was the only time we ever did a Thanksgiving weekend tournament. David Bozarth caught the biggest bass. Side note - we created this page and decided to name our tournament company Outlaw Outdoors to promote this tournament. Before that event we didn't have a name, we were just Open Tournaments that Clint and Stacy put on at the ramp.

to June of 2018 - our first Father's Day Tournament. This is the one tournament format that Stacy came up with, and it's been a good one! It's really become a tradition for a lot of teams. For the past 4 years, over 60% of the teams entered have been either father/child or grandfather/grandchild teams. We couldn't pick just one picture of the kids, so we posted a bunch!

to our very first weigh in trailer and stage. That stage was SO heavy. It was three pieces of expanded metal we had to manually fasten together. The podium we made in our garage with plywood and we wrapped fabric around the sides bc we tried to paint it and the paint looked horrible. That was also before we had anyone work for us. The two of us did pretty much everything. We did con our parents and uncle into coming volunteer pretty regularly.

Our first ever Toy Tournament – Justin Morton & Randy Turner 24.90 lbs. We raised a little over $5000 in that tournament in 2017. Thanks to you guys, we now raise between four and five times that every year! 😱 (who thinks we should make Clint wear the Santa suit again this year?)

We had a good time at iCast. Had a few good meetings, met some new people and saw some new things coming in the next few months. The highlight of the trip was Roger Bacon’s retirement party. Congrats Rog!
