In cases you missed my story previews, here they are once more because this wedding will forever be etched into my memory🥹

A lot of times as a wedding photographer, you enter into auto-pilot mode because things are moving so quickly. This was one of those days where we had all the time we needed and all the intentionality was there from everyone.

Several times throughout the weekend’s festivities, I stepped back and took it all in.

Fleeting moments becoming permanent fixtures of family history, heirlooms in the making… This job is one-of-kind. There’s nothing like it.

This was my first time using off-camera flash with my film camera🤭 I originally started looking into film for my personal pictures. Since that first roll I shot in February, I’ve loved getting familiar with this medium and challenging myself like I did with this lighting technique!

Sending another SIX rolls off tomorrow that I’m so excited about✨🎞️

Film was a big trend last year. Do we think it’s phasing out or is 2025 still going to be film-filled?

Back to regularly scheduled programming🫡

I have so many photos to share from the last few months of 2024. So, starting off strong with the Prazaks🥹 Rachel reached out to me just two months prior to her and Michael’s wedding day and my calendar was open!

If you’re a photographer and a little part of you panics when you see people saying “I’m booked for 2025” just days into the new year or even months prior… remember this: it’s ok to not have a jam packed calendar all the way until the end of 2026. At some point in your career, you can and should be selective, saying no to the weddings that may be better captured by a fellow peer, and then sometimes you’ll find yourself with a wide open month (embrace it). Maybe you will fill it with a last minute inquiry or two like this one or the opportunity to challenge yourself by second shooting for a photographer you love!

I have operated from a scarcity mindset before, but I’ve learned to trust that my couples and I seem to find each other more and more whether it’s one year from their wedding day or one month🫶🏻

Busy doesn’t always equate to success. Don’t rush. It’s not a race.

Happy New Year to you and yours🫶🏻

If I’m being honest, I’d say the last four months have felt like an entire year in and of themselves. 2024 was filled with so many incredible experiences, but I confess that I’ve let our recent circumstances overshadow those memories.

At the end of every year, Phil and I sit down and look back at what we accomplished the year before and write down our ambitions for the year ahead. We haven’t been able to do that yet. Our house is still a work in progress and I am simply trying to get our life back in order while finishing up work from the weeks leading up to Christmas!

My type A personality HATES the fact that I’ve been living in what feels like chaos, but I’ve been forced to lay it all down and let go. I had to decide that it’s okay that I may not get to my 2025 goals until February. It’s okay that I’m behind. It’s okay that things aren’t going the way I’d like them to. The dust will settle, the details will fall into place.

I’ll get to it. It doesn’t have to be right now. Time for my impatience to stop running rampant and to let go of my expectations. 2025: I truly don’t know what to expect from you, but I’m ready for you and whatever you may bring🖤

My fall engagement sessions have been one of a kind and I’ve been absolutely loving it!

Just a reminder I will be out of the office for the holidays December 23rd until January 6th! Phil and I are nearing the finish line on our house🙌🏻 Hoping ill be home for Christmas and editing your galleries from my own couch next year!

Life update paired with a few recent film favorites✨

🙏🏻 we’re still currently displaced and praying we’ll be back in our house by december 15

✈️ we’re headed out of town for the last time this year for an engagement session in west palm beach. looking forward to some sunshine!!!

📸 i have 2 weddings left before i close out an incredible year and my cal is fully booked for the rest of the month!

😴 i will be out of office dec 23 through jan 5 to rest, enjoy the holidays and get us moved back into our home for christmas!

One of my favorite things about New York is the fast pace of the city. Cars passing, horns honking, subways screeching, people walking (with speed😂). All the sounds of “we’re in a hurry” echo off the skyscrapers as you glide along the sidewalk.

Yet, a short stroll through the park and you’ll notice the slower paces too. Sounds of slow jazz, quiet chess games you’ll never win, people sunbathing in the grass.

It’s a special place for a reason. There’s nothing quite like it✨

Lily & Omar’s warmth and chemistry could be felt through the lens. They couldn’t stop laughing and I couldn’t stop snapping🤝🏻

So, I’d call this session a mission accomplished. Sending their film off today and can’t wait to see them on 35mm🎞️
