Moments Monday: An Emotional Wait for the Bride

As his bride finally makes her descent down the aisle, a groom’s face says it all. It’s always filled with emotion whether it’s an ear-to-ear smile or eyes filled with happy, moment-I’ve-been-waiting-for tears. The groom at this Spanish Hills Club wedding resorted to the latter as he laid eyes on his future wife—a very special and heartfelt scene to be sure.

Glamorous Wintertime Wedding with a Grand Church Ceremony ✨

Wintertime has never looked so good! Today’s featured couple held their glamorous wedding just a week away from Christmas with help from wedding coordinator Events by Maxi Castillo—however, in Santa Barbara every day feels like summer and the sun shone throughout the entire day. Michelle Ramirez took photos as both the bride and groom prepared for the day alongside a playful group of both bridesmaids and groomsmen. Excitement showed on all the ladies’ faces as the bride slipped on her show-stopping lace mermaid-style gown, which featured a classic long train. Her groom dressed in a black tuxedo and bowtie, and groomsmen added a dash of color with mauve neckties and various colored socks.

The couple’s choice of ceremony venue was perfectly fitting. The Old Mission Santa Barbara provided for amazing photos both on the inside during the traditional ceremony and on the outside afterwards. The building’s white brick architecture and pink design details even matched with the couple’s color theme and the floral arrangements provided by Tangled Lotus.

Sometimes weddings are more about the journey and less about the destination. This picture of the wedding party and guests alike joyfully riding the Santa Barbara Trolley exemplifies that perfectly. The iconic red trolley shuttled guests from the couple’s fairytale church ceremony at Our Lady of Mount Carmel to their glorious reception planned by Ann Johnson Events, and everyone had a blast along the way.

World Kindness Day 🫶🫶🫶

World Kindess Day is a time to spread love and joy and give back to causes near and dear to us. This year in 2024, the theme of the holiday is “Make Kindness the Norm”—a sentiment we can all stand behind. It acts as a reminder that while we celebrate today and practice goodwill and empathy, that should be our mantra every other day of the year as well.

Here at Santa Barbara Wedding Style, in addition to promoting kindness we are also encouraging charitable donations of any kind. Proceeds at SBWS are donated to the SEARCH Foundation—an organization consisting of industry professionals dedicated to assisting individuals in the meeting, events and catering industry that are experiencing crisis through direct financial support.
