This is a small thing with HUGE impact....Found at the Great Jones County Fair in Iowa. When acts stay off site, they often use their vehicles to house part of their gear and go back and forth to the Hotel. When there is no designated parking area for the act they often struggle to find a spot, have to carry their stuff great distances and even stuggle to be able to leave.

This is a small thing with HUGE impact. Well Done!

I see eating contests a lot. Using a fair vendor is a great way to promote your fair vendor and create an activity/contest for your fair. But if you look close this is a hot wings contest from Buffalo Wild Wings.

When you get a local food establishment to sponsor the event, they get publicity and you get $$$$ sponsorship for your fair. Get you local businesses involved give them a chance to be a financial sponsor of something they do everyday!!!!

Check out this fun easy to make Ag play area for kids. Under an awning on concrete , shade trees around it for parents and grandparents to sit and rest while the kids play. This is at Worth County Fair in Iowa. They do another cool thing each day in this ag area and that is MEET A FARMER. Every day they bring in a different kind of farmer and give kids snacks that pertain to that kind of farmer. (beef farmer-beef sticks, dairy-string cheese, grain-corn nuts.........Hemp day-brownies, Ok that one was a joke to see if you are reading this)

Mystery Bag Cook off. Each team of two arrive in costume to cook on a hot plate a dish to be judged using only the ingredients provided. This year at the Hancock County Regional Fair contestants got hot dogs, mac and cheese pickles egg ranch red hots and salt. All ingredients must be used in the meal they prepare and present for a taste test for the judges. Very popular event!

What an awesome idea from The Great Jones County Fair. Pictured on the bottom are the queen candidates from each year and on the top is a picture of the queen. An awesome way to spotlight the fairs royalty through the years!
