It’s Trail Race Weekend with the Kealia Quad Crusher. It’s a double out and back course that is about 13 miles long. Going out, it’s all up. Coming back, it’s all down. X2. Equaling around 4000ft of vertical gain.

These were my finishing each out and back photos from last year. You can expect about the same this year. 🫶🏽

Also, if you check out my story.. I’ll have to permanently abandon my FACEBOOK Photography page because my personal Facebook account which created the page over 10 years ago got hacked and Facebook permanently closed that account and won’t let me reestablish access to the page. Im still able to post to Facebook because anything I post to Instagram goes there as well. But I’m not able to see notifications, messages, and etc.
I’ll be creating a new page this weekend. Once I do, your support in getting that one up and going would be greatly appreciated! This page is where my photography started.. so I’m definitely saddened by the events that transpired and the lack of support from Facebook with this matter.

PSA: If you ever find yourself at the beach in Hawaii (especially Sharks Cove), please don’t ever turn your back to the ocean.

I’ve seen so many people leave this area bloodied up because they get hit my rogue waves and get tossed along the rocks here. Even on the calmest of days.

Officially retiring this tent as my new one just came in the mail. 🏕️⛰️

It leaked a tiny bit on my last camping trip which I’m fairly certain I’ve repaired but it’ll now serve as a back up or for friends who don’t have a tent but still want to camp out!

When visiting Arches National Park last summer, I was able to talk to a NPS Ranger very briefly. She mentioned that many of the Arches were formed from high winds whipping through the flats which was slowly causing weak points in the rocks to erode and crumble. My first thought was, “Wow, Mother Nature is freaking awesome!” because I have always been amazed by her force and this was a perfect example of that.
A few minutes later, the Ranger left and kept walking around the trails to greet other hikers.
When she left, I turned around to take this photo of the North and South Window Arches when I noticed that it looks like there’s another arch in the process of being formed on the left side of this photo since the wall is all carved out and indented. Hell, it may take hundreds of years to carve through if it ever does but shooooot. Im found all of this to be pretty fascinating!

Who is Matt S.?

Originally from Washington State but now residing in Hawaii (as of 5 years ago), Matt is a 26 year old professional photographer who takes nothing but pride in his work. Matt specializes in Engagement/Couples Photography, Family Photography, Senior Portraits Photography, and Wedding/Elopement Photography. Okay, no more talking in 3rd person. The best way to describe me would be that I’m silly and easy going with a touch of sarcasm.

I love hiking and snorkeling. There’s just something I absolutely love about “getting away from it all” and hiking/snorkeling helps me do just that! (Ask me about my adventure sessions!). The best part of me and the area of my life that I cherish the most is my family.
