Another amazing Piano Camp experience in the history books. It's always shocking how fast it goes and how much the kids learn in such a short time.
This year the kids created their own story boards to experience a bit of what cartooning is about.
As the finale for the week, today, each student shared their board and then performed an arrangment of each classical genre piece represented in the cartoons watched this week.

I was invited to address the Family Service Lincoln Board of Directors today to brag on the kids and Youth Development Program Spring Break Event that I had the privelege of leading in March. Imagine my surprise when I was presented with this stack of thank you notes from the kids!

I am always amazed at how quickly piano camp goes and this year was no exception. We had a blast during our time at the Beach Party!

A bonus to seeing the curriculum and playing come together so well is seeing the friendships that emerge and strengthen. It is a joy to sit back and watch it happen.

The week's curriculum centered around tone painting as explored in their pieces and works by Beethoven, Mozart, Grieg, and Debussy - along with lots of games, snacks, movie time, and laughter!
