Last Saturday I was reminded what separates a good wedding DJ from a subpar one.

I was hired to DJ the reception, but when rain moved the ceremony indoors at the last minute, the live musician (who was set up outside) wasn’t able to perform inside. Rather than letting that become a problem for the couple, I stepped in on the spot.

I quickly built a Spotify playlist for the prelude, processional, and recessional, and even provided an instrumental track plus my microphone so the live musician could still sing part of the prelude.

The job of a great wedding DJ isn’t just playing music at the reception. it’s doing whatever it takes to make the entire day successful for the bride and groom. Even when it’s not in the contract.

These are the efforts most guests never see, but they make all the difference. So grateful I could help create the beautiful ceremony the couple dreamed of.
