Hey Halifax County Friends! We'll be in South Boston, at our usual location across from Wal Mart, for a limited 5-day run, from Tuesday, September10, through Saturday, September 14, 2024. We'll be loaded up with plenty of SOBO baked, smashed, and stuffed potatoes. Also, plenty of BBQ Pulled Pork, Chicken, and Ribs. Open daily from 11-6.

As we said above, this is a short, 5-day gig, due to scheduling conflicts. We'll post details later, but please consider this your "save the date" notice now.

Please take a second to share this post so we won't have to pay Facebook a lot of money to spread the word.

When Pigs Fly BBQ is doing some private cooking this week, and we'll have extra space in our smoker. So, we'll have barbeque available for you to pick up on Friday, August 23.

We'll have BBQ pulled pork by the pint or quart. SOBO baked, smashed and stuffed potatoes. Whole chickens. Ribs by the half or whole rack. Baked beans and, yes, tomato dumplin's by the pint or quart. Your choice of five homemade sauces.

Pickup is Friday between 5 and 6 pm.

We now take cash, check, Venmo, Cash App, and all major credit cards, but there is a substantial discount for cash or check.

Friends, we just sold out and we're heading home. Thanks so much for your patronage and support.

We'll reload overnight tonight, and we'll be stocked up with plenty of BBQ pulled pork, ribs, chicken, potatoes, and weenies to please you on Saturday.

When Pigs Fly will be doing a popup barbeque event at the old Fritz's Pharmacy in Fairlea, this Friday and Saturday, August 2 and 3. We'll have plenty of slow-cooked bbq pulled pork for sandwiches, meals and SOBO Baked, smashed and stuffed potatoes. We'll also have bbq chicken and ribs.

And, we're bringing along our new hot dog wagon, We**ie, King, so we'll have brats and dogs to suit any taste.

The old Fritz's is located in Fairlea, directly across from MacDonald's. Open noon until about 8 Friday and Saturday.

And, yes. We're still doing hot dogs at the White Sulphur Springs Farmer's Market on Thursday.

When Pigs Fly's new hot dog cart, called We**ie King, will be at the White Sulphur Springs Farmer's Market again this Thursday, August 1, from 3-6pm. We might come a little early if we can.

We learned a lot during our soft opening last week, and we've tweaked the menu a bit for your munching pleasure.

This week, we'll have premium Brats, fixed with mustard and kraut (or whatever else you like) for only $6.

We'll have our all beef premium hot dogs, fixed to order with your choice of exotic and wonderful toppings, for $4 each, or 2 for $7.

We're also bringinging out our new Cheapo Dog, with ketchup and/or mustard, for only $2 each.

UPDATE: She has been found safe.

PLEASE SHARE: With the family’s permission, we are asking all that are able to join us tomorrow Sunday, July 28th at the The Sportsman Tavern at 10 am as we begin a methodical search for Chandler and her vehicle. We would like to ask that if you can bring a friend, please do. If you have any maps of the area or a drone, please bring those as well. We will work together to canvas swimming holes, campgrounds, and other areas of interest.

We live in an awesome community and together we can find Chandler Reed.

Just a note of thanks to everybody who came by and participated in our We**ie King soft opening today in White Sulphur Springs. We made a few mistakes, but we learned a lot. We apologize to those we turned away because we were late getting cranking. We did more business than we anticipated, got good feedback from customers, and learned a lot in the process.

Thanks again for your support and patronage. We'll let you know about our next foray once we figure it out.

How about a big, sloppy chili dog? Or maybe you prefer them a little more basic?

When Pigs Fly's new venture, We**ie King, will be doing our soft opening at the WSS Farmer's Market this Thursday, July 25 during market hours of 3:00 to 6:00.

As promised, we'll have a premium quality, all beef wiener on a nice soft hot dog bun. Topped the way you like it with homemade chili, homemade slaw, ketchup, mustard, onions, saurkraut, pickle relish, cheese, or whatever we can think of to bring. Mix and match to your heart's content.

We'll also have some bratwurst, which we recommend with kraut and brown mustard, but that's up to you, too.

Soft drinks and bottled water.

For opening day, we'll also throw in a free bag of chips with every hot dog purchase.

Hot dogs are $4.00 each, or 2 for $7. (Add a dollar for chili)

Meals (introductory price):
2 hot dogs, chips and drink: $10
1 hot dog, chips and drink: $7
Brats are $6
Chips are $2
Soft drinks and bottled water are $3

Come see us but remember, this is our first time, so be gentle.

When Pigs Fly is pround to announce the introduction of our newest venture, We**ie King! We've recently acquired a New York Style streetcorner hot dog cart, and we're gonna be offering the best hot dogs in the Valley, and beyond. Bar none.

We start with a premium, all-beef weiner, nestled in a quality bun, with your choice of toppings. Go with the traditional ketchup, mustard and onion, or get crazy with homemade chili, homemade slaw, saurkraut, brown mustard, pickle relish, homemade red onion sauce...you name it!

We'll be scheduling a "soft opening" within the next week or two, and we'll post our schedule once we have it worked out. Meanwhile, watch for us standing beside the road with our little cart and our big umbrella! And, maybe even a smile!

We'll also be doing events like crafts fairs, festivals, parades, ball games, and whatever else draws a crowd.

Or consider doing a hot dog wagon for something different at a wedding reception, family reunion, company party, team celebration, backyard picnic, or just about any kind of event. We can come over and help you with a budget concious alternative to a big, stuffy catering event!

We are actively looking for venues to set up on our schedule. Call us if you have any good ideas to share with us.

Does everyone love hot dogs? Of course they do. 93% of all Americans enjoy eating hot dogs!

When Pigs Fly hasn't done a Friday Night Fish Fry since it was Lent, and we feel like it's time. The truth is, we wore out two commercial electric fryers last winter, just trying to keep up with you all. So, it took a little time to save up to get a couple of commercial gas fryers, which we think will hold up a little better. The time is now to get them out and fire them up.

So, we'll be at the Sportsman Tavern on Edgar Avenue in Ronceverte, West Virginia, on Friday and Saturday nights, July 26 and 27. Serving from noonish to 8ish. Dine in at The Sportsman Tavern , or take it home with you. Your choice.

We'll be loaded up with fish, shrimp, scallops, and pan fried oysters. We're also bringing along a grill, so we can offer you a choice of fried or grilled, using Kellen's new gluten-free, homemade grilling seasoning.

French fries, cole slaw, and homemade hush puppies on the side. Did we tell you that we make our own Coctail and Tarter sauces from scratch, too?

We cook everything to your order, so it takes a minute. But, we think its worth a little wait for hot, fresh seafood. You can always go in and have a cold beer to pass the time.

The party is over. The Skyline Bluegrass Festival on the River is in the books for another year. The music was great, the crowd was excited, and you kept us hopping serving out barbeque and hot dogs all evening.

Hey Greenbrier County Folks. When Pigs Fly will be at the Skyline Bluegrass Festival on the River at the Island Park Amphitheater in Ronceverte, Saturday, July 20, from 3:00 until late evening. You don't have to listen to the music to get something to eat, but we really think you should.

We'll have our delicious bbq pulled pork sandwiches, sides, and hot dogs with all the fixin's. And, of course, our almost famous SOBO baked, smashed and stuffed potatoes!

There is an excellent lemonade stand at 400 Talcott Circle, as well as a yard sale, in Lewisburg today. They also have really good brownies! The young ladies are raising money for a church project.

I'm ashamed to admit it, but I only just now got to visit Good Roads Bakehouse up in Frankford, WV for the first time. Seems like we're always working somewhere on Fridays and Saturdays.

The pastries in the display case looked wonderful, but I'm trying to learn to avoid carbs, so I settled for a pepperoni roll.

Mercy! Best pepperoni roll I ever had, bar none. Go up and see those guys... they've got it figured out!

When Pigs Fly is pround to have been invited to Greenbrier Valley Pride's 2024 Holler with Pride Event on Saturday, June 29, from 12 until 6pm. The event is at Island Park in Ronceverte, West Virginia. We'll be offering of hot dogs and homemade potato salad. We'll have complete hot dog fixin's, of course, including Kellen's homemade hot dog chili and Aunt Alice's Cole Slaw.

We're offering our popular Two Hot Dogs plus Potato Salad special for only $12.00. Also, single hot dogs are $4.00 each, or 2 for $7.00.

(Our first unit is also operating Friday and Saturday at the Sportsman Tavern on Edgar Avenue, with our full barbeque menu).

South Boston Friends: Only three more days (Thurs, Fri, and Sat) left to stock up on your barbeque favorites before we leave until September. We'll be across from the South Boston Wal Mart daily from 11-6 through Saturday evening, June 8.

We want to leave a healthy planet for our children and grandchildren. So, we've been working to eliminate Styrofoam from our packaging, among other things.

This week, we're testing out a new package for our almost famous SOBO baked, stuffed and smashed potatoes. Customer feedback has been positive. Not only are the new packages biodegradable, they are microwaveable, they stack better, and they latch better than those old Styrofoam tabs that always pop off. They cost more, but we're absorbing that cost as a small contribution to the environment. Your price stays the same.

Same great product, same generous portion, same fair price, new box. Check it out and let us know what you think of it.

Ricky and Lucy got their first pork butt bones today. They're only 7 months old, so we held off for a while.
