"I choose to work for TWE because Jennifer and Rick truly put the needs of the clients first and do everything they can to make sure that each wedding is exactly what each couple envision. They are also great mentors and want each of their team members to be successful." What is your favorite part of a wedding? "My favorite part of a wedding is the first dance between the couple!" What are your favorite hobbies? "Two of my favorite hobbies are crafting and walking around Home Goods." Where did you attend school and what is your degree in? "I graduated from Sonoma state university with a bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education. I also have a multiple subjects teaching credential and am currently a 3rd grade teacher." Next up for "Meet TWE Monday" is Lisa! Lisa is TWE's Operations Manager and Lead Planner. When not lead planning or assisting with weddings, Lisa runs a lot of the behind the scenes work for TWE. She also officiates now and then! Originally from Virginia, Lisa now works for TWE from Sacramento, CA. We hope you enjoy learning about Lisa! Why do you work for Tan Weddings & Events? "I love the Tans from who they are as people to how they run their business! They are the epitome of what I would hope to be like as a wedding planner and wanted to learn from them in all the ways I can :)" What is your favorite part of a wedding? "I love the first dance between a newlywed couple! You can really see the love a couple shares between each other and the joy of their celebration." What are your favorite hobbies? "These days I really love reading and pilates!" Where did you attend school and what is your degree in? "Christopher Newport University in Newport News, VA and majored in Business Marketing. I also went to beauty school over the pandemic and have been a licensed esthetician since 2021 :)" Do you have any side businesses people should check out? "@lili.artistry is my self-ran beauty business! I specialize in lash extensions and facials!" What is your current favorite tv show? "I've been keeping up with The Last of Us and have been binging New Amsterdam." What is one fun fact about you? "All my life I've never been able to keep plants alive (even killed succulents!) But in the last year or two, I feel like I'm finally getting the hang of the plant mom life (7 and counting!)" Next up for "Meet TWE Monday" is co-owner, Rick Tan! Rick's role for TWE ranges from Principal Planner, Lead Designer, Officiant, and Harpist. Rick is originally from the Philippines, grew up in Sacramento, and is currently living and planning weddings from Davis, CA. Rick also played harp along with Jennifer's flute for wedding ceremonies when TWE started out, but Rick loves owning and working for TWE because, "I enjoy working with my wife, and as Jenn and I were able to have a unique ceremony and wedding, it’s like gifting forward to give couples a meaningful celebration with their families." It's been a while since we've introduced you to the team that makes up Tan Weddings & Events - stay tuned every Monday for another "Meet TWE Monday" :) To start things off, we'd love to reintroduce you to none other than Jennifer Tan! Jennifer is one of the co-owners of TWE and wears may hats for the company from Principal Planner to Officiant. Jennifer is from Davis, CA and started TWE from originally live musician services playing flute for ceremonies. Over the years, officiating, elopements, and the full weddings you see today are what came from it. We hope you enjoy getting to know Jennifer! What is your favorite part of a wedding? "The moments at the end of the ceremony after the kiss are my favorite -- the look of sheer joy and happiness on their faces is like nothing else!" What are your favorite hobbies? "I am an aromatherapist and fiber artist. I love all artistic endeavors with fiber -- crochet, knit, weave, spin, dye and felt." Where did you attend school and what is your degree in? "BA in Classical Civlization from UC Davis, MA in Education Administration plus teaching and administration credentials from Chapman University" Do you have any side businesses or endeavors? "I love supporting people on their healthy living journey through @arbonne nutrition and skin care products! TAN = Trust, Awaken, Nourish your body and soul." What is your current favorite tv show or book? "Outlander on TV and the Norah Roberts Dragonheart Legacy books." What is one fun fact about you? "I forage wild herbs to make tea."
