Hi all, this is a hard caption to write… I want to start by saying the biggest THANK YOU to all of the customers, couples, and amazing vendors I’ve worked with over the years. The encouragement and support from our local community has been a huge part of making Coral’s Florals grow beyond what I ever imagined it to be and has forced ME to grow beyond what I thought I was capable of. I am so so grateful for all of the love and positive feedback for my work.

I know this news will disappoint many, and I apologize to everyone I’ve had to say no to as I transition into a new chapter of life - I’m no longer taking on events and weddings in Rincón - Coral’s Florals will be closing up for good, and I’ll be moving off this island I’ve called home for over 10 years.

This has been a really hard decision to make and I can’t say I’ve had any support in this direction… in fact, every single person I’ve spoken about it to has given me the same advice, to keep going, that ‘Coral’s Florals’ is who I am, that I’m a part of the community here, that I have to just persevere…

But my heart and my soul tell me something different, and the longer I sat with the decision, the louder a little voice in me spoke, until finally I learned to not listen to the outside voices telling me what I ‘should’ do, what I’m ‘meant’ to do - and the decision became easy.

So this is the end of Coral’s Florals - thank you so much for all of the support and growth and love this little business has brought me, I couldn’t have done any of this without all of you.

Did you know that we offer ‘Living Arrangements’ ? They are made of a mix of fresh cut flowers and small propagated plant babies, so as the flowers fade the whole arrangement can be taken apart and different pieces are already rooting, ready to be transplanted to their own little pot! They make the perfect gift for plant lovers 🥰🌿

Creating these flower accessories was a fun challenge and sparked a new love and appreciation for hibiscus! I rarely work with them because they close up after one day, and it’s hard to tell when they will be ready to bloom. I had to source the flowers from several friends and neighbors to get a bigger variety and it took a bit of planning to time the photoshoot… but it came together really nicely and the photos look so beautiful 🩷

This was a sweet request to celebrate Abi’s second baby and her birthday, it’s always a pleasure to create for the beautiful people in our community.

Today’s floral creation for a dear friend ❤️

My journey in floristry started as a wedding coordinator. I will never forget the first time I watched a professional florist deliver the bride’s bouquet and the emotion that filled the room when she entered with the flowers. I watched and listened to her carefully and it was the first time I thought to myself, ‘I could be a wedding florist…’

This weekend I set up and decorated for a large event at that very same venue - the last wedding they will host there!

It wasn’t until I finished breaking everything down and got home and realized the beautiful synchronicity there.

My work is a joy and a pleasure to me, even when the stress brings me to tears. I never anticipated the challenges this business would bring me on both a professional and personal level. It is so much more than just playing with flowers! It is one of the hardest things I have ever done, some days I hate it and I think of giving up all the time - but to me, sharing flowers is sharing happiness & love - and making brides happy on their day brings an incredible sense of fulfillment and service. That feeling always reminds me that I’m in the right business.

It is an honor to work with such lovely couples and help make their day enjoyable, beautiful, and stress-free. I take this duty very seriously and I jump through lots of hoops to make it happen - but the end result is always worth the hard work.

As we get closer to wedding season, I can’t help but reflect on the journey to get to where I am today. Years ago when I was first beginning to put myself out there as a wedding florist, I had SO much to learn and didn’t even really know how much I didn’t know!

I’m incredibly humbled and grateful for the trust that couples gave me when I came to them with no portfolio, no experience, and really no idea what I was doing… but I must have been doing something right, because my calendar for the season in now almost FULL !

I am excited to take this year on with a fresh new energy and the confidence that comes with A LOT more experience and knowledge.

My bridal bouquets are always put together on the morning of the wedding day, using the freshest blooms, often cut and cleaned just before assembling the bouquet. The most pristine and beautiful flowers are put aside for the brides and so much love and attention goes into each bridal bouquet.

I am not your everyday florist. I don’t work like everyone else and as much as I’ve learned the trade and tried to do things ‘like I should’ I’ve realized that I’m just not meant to. My way of being and my way of creating is my unique gift. The love and attention I put into my flowers is felt and received by the recipients. I am more than just a florist, I’m an artist and a messenger of love and flowers are my medium.

This weekend’s wedding was a reminder of how much I love what I do and how rewarding my work is. It is truly an honor to bring my creative work to such a monumental moment in people’s lives and receive such positive feedback!

There is something about flowers that remind us of the ethereal and magical nature of our world. It is my hope and wish that I can bring this reminder to the world through my flowers, that we are all creative and magical beings, that our experience here on earth is to be treated as a precious gift, and that we are one with the natural beauty that leaves us in awe.
