on the eve of their wedding, they chose a secluded section of woods of his family’s property to privately exchange vows. they had cleared this spot together, in a space they had collected so many memories on; its entrance surrounded by a field of sunflowers planted specifically for this purpose. her best friend came to help with champagne and a top notch playlist, and he brought his drone to capture everything from a birds eye view. they celebrated with friends and family the next day, but all of this was just for them *sighs in romance*

a love letter to the people behind the scenes. //

who work tirelessly, who spin their creative wheels to exhaustion because they’re powered by passion.

they orchestrate every single meticulous detail to keep a couple in a bubble of bliss ALL DAY LONG, lend their talent and skills, keep everyone wildin out so I grab those photos of people doing the worm, ensure no one comes close to being dehydrated or hangry. they are incredible.

Wedding days are ✨collaborations✨for two people who are devoting the rest of their days to each other. as a photographer their efficiency and dedication means I am free to focus on my craft. I’m so grateful I’ve had the privilege to work with, be inspired by, and make lasting friendships just by being in their orbit.

is there a better exit than hopping off the back of your newly minted husbands bike brought from your GA home, in your mommas wedding dress you had hemmed as a reception surprise, with people you’ve loved all the way from kindergarten, with fireworks and a acapella rendition of Party In the USA?! *takes an inhale* ABSOLUTELY NOT. // going for this ‘exit’ moment with just your bridal party I think is so genuis! it’s a great option that keeps the dance floor bumping without a mass exodus

a pop up rain storm, in true kentucky fashion, made its way over their outdoor ceremony spot just hours. even though they had a back up plan, this understandably caused a little panic for the bride which she expressed concern about at their first look. I’ll never forget though how he grabbed her hands and told her so calmly how whatever the weather, they were here on this day together and nothing else mattered. it was so simple and pure. you could visibly see her stress disappear and she just melted into him. // rain on your wedding day isn’t ideal but I also think it’s a testament to “weathering the storms” of life together. a reminder that you can get through anything together! plus, hello, the romance of the rain for photos is top notch 🤌🏻 now go out and take your partners hand and embrace whatever comes ok 🤍 love momma dani

there was a flash *hail storm* that popped up right as we were beginning our session, and we almost rescheduled. but they said— ‘let’s just go for it and we’ll embrace what comes!’ as I got to talk to them more and more, I learned that open hearted spirit infused their relationship, only making it stronger. we DID end up embracing what the weather had in store that day—and were rewarded with a park all to ourselves and clear skies. i left feeling inspired by them; to embrace that same outlook; and it’s yet another instance where witnessing the stories of my couples leaves an indelible mark on me.

I also must mention my continued obsession with how the couple had mini cakes on each table, and let the couple who has been married the longest do the honors of cutting them! 😍

“Nothing of me is original. I am the combined effort of everyone I've ever known.” // celebrated 12 years with my husband in a small cafe in arizona where we had to google what tapas were (lolz), laughed till I cried playing card games around my parents kitchen table, hiked in altitudes I had no business attempting, took in desert sunsets with my babies, and enjoyed every single second of ragging my siblings. It was soo hard to leave my family out west, but I bottled up more memories than I could count. Kentucky rocks anyways 😜

often, couples tell me they want their wedding day to feel “like them”, like stepping into a hazy dream where reality blends with intimacy and anticipation of a future together.

they cherish capturing moments: family reunions, the emotional first glance, whether in a private nook or at the aisle, and that first kiss amid cheers from loved ones.

to make this happen, it's crucial to visualize the day's feel, look, and sound, then let it unfold naturally.

this is what wedding days are about—creating a space for your *story to breathe*, embracing the emotions, and taking your time.

hearing 'I trust you' from a couple is what we vendors aim for—it's when we can best become your own personal historians.

reflecting on Alexa and Neil's wedding, it's clear why these thoughts came to mind for me. her calm morning with music, getting ready with her mom and best friend. their heartfelt first look at the top of the stairs, surrounded just by soft whispers and gratitude. the unhurried joy of walking back up the aisle together. their day was a blend of warmth and intimacy, candlelit dinners, porch dances, and a rose petal farewell—marking a perfect start.

if you want your photos to capture your day's essence, trust us. choose vendors who align with your vision. invest in reviewing portfolios and testimonials. allow us to focus on our craft.

on your day, let go, live in the moment, and trust that we're capturing your story, one to be treasured forever.

when two veterinarians meet in school and fall in love, travel the world together, make a home with their dogs and chickens, you go big ok. So a winter engagement session in Asheville watching the sunset with a cocktail on a rooftop and dancing in the truck bed of “Joe Diffy” against the Blue Ridge Mountains was the answer.

the countdown to midnight struck, the energy thick with the anticipation, and the ballroom erupted in a cascade of confetti and cheers, adding to the soundtrack of the band playing. each piece of the shimmering confetti catching the light of the chandeliers above and it was a moment where everyone felt the magic. from my vantage point photographing on the stage, I was swept up in the moment. in a room full of people celebrating and dancing, I watched through my camera as the bride and groom fell into their own world, and she exclaimed, 'Oh my gosh, I'm going to cry!' which only echoed my sentiments.

it was a vivid reminder of why I do what I do. it's not just about photographs; it's about suspending the moments of people's time on this big rock floating in space. getting to bridge my love of people and my greatest passion--being a part of these raw, genuine parts of personal history--grateful doesn't begin to cover it.

to all the couples i've had the honor of serving this year, thank you for letting me into your lives. here's to a new year filled with more authentic, unforgettable experiences.

cheers, everyone, and happy new year from a sappy ole photographer.

Sometimes, life asks us to be present in ways we never expected.

I've taken a little step back from social media, not because I've lost my spark, but to redirect that fire to my clients, my family, and my graduate studies (ya girl made the honor roll for the first time ever).

This candid shot, courtesy of my most loveliest friend is of me in Italy in pure joy admidst this whirlwind of wedding season. She caught me photographing my couples ceremony and I remember feeling a tear down my cheek listening to the officiant reading an excerpt on love from The Prophet. I will treasure this photograph because it captured my why.

The scenery is breathtaking, yes, but it’s the people that matter the most to me.

Anyway friends, just here to say that life has its seasons, and right now, I'm soaking in every moment off the grid for now. Fully expect a shameless amount of wedding spam soon!

maybe it was the breeze from sea of cortez, the handcrafted margaritas, the togetherness of all their favorite people, the way the sun rays burst through the palm trees as she walked to her groom, or the way you instantly noticed how they treated their love with such tenderness—whatever it was, amidst this scene, enchantment unfurled.

Love doesn't follow a script, it dances to its own beat. (Heyyyoooo im unstoppable when it comes to cheesy openers mmkkk). This incredible couple threw out the wedding rulebook and created a celebration as vibrant and warm as their personalities. From walking hand in hand down the aisle with v secret garden vibes to the glittery boots and disco ball earrings, every moment radiated their authenticity. It was an honor to capture their story, where people took center stage, and the magic of individuality sparkled baby ✨

Every couple has a “wedding story,” but this one is worthy of making the Book of Legends:

Golf carts were the primary mode of transportation at their destination wedding location, which, hello, fun, right? Welp, after the ceremony, on the way to their couple portraits, her wedding dress somehow got caught in theirs and made a HUGE rip on her train. Luckily it wasn’t that noticeable (and I love me some photoshop anyway)

When we got to our first stop, we were having a grande ole time taking photos and enjoying ourselves. Then, the bride dropped something--and being the gentleman he is--her husband quickly popped down to grab it. Then, we all heard this loud RRRRIIIIIPPPPP. Yep, he had ripped his pants!

Everyone was in hysterics, and I’m glad these were in focus.

But seriously, let’s give them a standing ovation for handling this with THE utmost lightheartedness and fun. That’s the stuff love stories are made of!
