Our 2nd graduation party for the past weekend was on Saturday. Omarie and Italia celebrated their graduation from HHHS along with their family and friends. Graduation season mean ... graduation parties to celebrate the special events. This weekend we celebrated "Little Marcella's" graduation from 8th grade with a few of her friends and family.
She came up with her own decor, did all the decorating work, cooked the food and with a little help from her family, came up with games, door prizes, put together the slideshow with all her friends, and created lasting memories. Got up early this morning to take care of the final touches for the NAACP WIN Tea. As I walked out the back door and looked right I saw where God chose to lay down a tree. And it looks like it won't be long before the sister tree falls. But God with His Majestic Hand said to the tree, "You can fall here, but leave the house, the a/c unit and the fence alone." We are so thankful for the rain that God sent over the past 2 days, but with it came "drought ridden ground" that gave way on one of the electrical poles just up the street from the house here at Mililani Woods Venue. Since we have big traffic cones we use for parking, we were have to contribute to help the power company guys block the road until reinforcement of the Nolanville Police arrived. It's sometimes the littlest thing in life that you can do help..

Jenn and John celebrated their wedding and reception here on Saturday, the 25th of June. It was a truly hot day in Texas and we praise God for working air conditioners. Their colors were emerald green, peach and white, so we changed the ceiling lights to peach. The walls and ceiling sheers were all white...

Today we celebrated Yna's graduation from High School with her family and friends. It was a great joy helping them get set up.

We also give a major shout out to Russell and his team at Centerpoint Air Conditioning. Our main 3T mini-split went out almost 2 weeks ago and they couldn'tget the repair part anytime soon. With today's event set up for 160 and temperatures in the 100s, they not only found the only available unit between Waco and San Antonio, but also drove to Waco to get it and installed it this morning.

We praise God for His provision, Russell and his team for keeping our little Venue going and helping Yna and her family to have a really comfortable event. Here are some photos from Yna's day...

On Saturday, the 11th of June, Ashley held her Bridal Shower here. The ladies came in all their splendor wearing their big hat or hatinators while attending the Brunch Tea. Using Mililani Woods' purple and white sidewall sheers to compliment their color scheme of pinks, rose gold and gold gave tge room an enchanting feel. On Friday, the 10th of June, Johana & Angel came to the Venue for a reception following their nuptials that were held earlier in the day. Family and friends joined them from far and wide, as well as those closer. Set up for us was super simple as we just put tables and chairs in place. The couple hired Sylvia with Elegant Expressions by Sylvia for all the table decor. Julia's Unit 1 Mobile Bartending sent Gary to man the adult beverages table. Margaret with Eclectic Catering provided a great appetizer spread and an excellent meal. And the evening was kept lively with a live band. Music was provided by A Pesos Completo. Balloon art was provided by Benchcraft.com. It was a spectacular evening and guests lingered for a while. Following are pictures of their celebration...

On Thursday, the 19th of May, we were blessed to have the Bell County Master Gardeners come to Mililani Woods Venue as their first big gathering since Covid-19. We set the Hall up for 96 (16 tables of 6 each)
and many people came out. They enjoyed conversation, games and catching up on thongs relating to gardening. We were blessed to see them walking the grounds and enjoying God's beautiful creation and talking with some about the things we have done at the Venue. Following are a few photos of their rustic decor. Many brought food and they had a wonderful brunch. It was a great joy for us to meet them.

We enjoyed the Gospel Brunch Concert put on by Smth Annointing Sounds Music Studio with Richard & Finest Hegens in celebration of Mother's Day. The event was covered by Janalynn of the Killeen Daily Herald. The guest musicians were Richard on his flute and Hillery Riley with her violin.

Dutchess served as the Mistress of Ceremony once again and blessed the audience as she recited a beautiful Mother's Day poem she wrote. Vendors this time were Myrna Hawkins who provided Mary Kay beauty products; Saunyette Calloway with Liquids of the Earth Shop who produces her own all natural products for the hair and face; Aronka and Aaron who served ice cream from Aronka's Five Star Creations located on Trimmer near Ellison High School, Whitney and her crew with Withagirl Catering and More provided the delicious food as always and Dahlen Urquhart with her beautiful jewelry line of Designs by Dahlen. Their next concert is June 10th. Hope you can make it. It is so great listening to tge talent of these live musicians. Next post for this event will have Richard playing his flute..

Their friends came the evening before and decorated the Great Hall so that Heike was surprised by the beauty of lavender wall sheers, table runners and chair sashes, white tablecloths and chair covers and lots of silver bling...

Smth Annointing Sounds Music Studio with Richard...

The Propel Women Series was held here tonight. Faith Point Church with zpastor Marsha is the host group. The ladies said they had a great time. It is open to any woman who would like to come. I thoroughly enjoy the time I've met with them. Here are some photos from the event.

Preliminary setup pictures from last night and the final touches today for Vanessa and Dwayne's wedding and reception. The bride and groom looked splendid. The beautiful setup was created by Renee and her Dream Event Planning team. Super cold day. Lows last night -- 19 degrees. High today hit 41 degrees. As they close out the temperature is down to 28 degrees. We are so thankful to the Lord for making the new heater and a/c possible. The unit was added last summer. Along with the other units, the Great Hall is more comfortable. With that said about the weather, the ceremony was held indoors as well.
