I teach chimichurri in so many classes. This Argentinian herby sauce is wonderful on beef, shrimp, chicken, grilled portobellos and your morning eggs! It’s easy and quick so I can be outside doing what I love!

See my recent reel on how to make chimichurri and the recipe.

I loved the last Wednesday and picked up skirt steaks there - highly recommend!

Michelle de la mora is a Brain Health specialist and certified integrative Nutrition health coach. She recently moved to the beautiful Jasper Highlands with the most spectacular mountain views.

She wanted to meet some new friends so shared her idea for a healthy cooking culinary experience in her neighborhood chat and soon had several like minded women gathering to cook, chat and bond. It was a success, cooking together and sharing a meal does that!

We used as many locally sourced ingredients as we could and talked about where they came from. In this case, in Chattanooga. 👩🏻‍🌾👨‍🌾

What they made: Mango sunrise mocktail, local honey baked Brie, steak with chimichurri, smashed purple and white potatoes, arugula and seared cherry tomato salad, mangoes and coconut cream for dessert.🥥

Thank you Michelle and friends, this was a delight!

What if your house burned to the ground, multiple generations were housed in that home - crowded with love, dreams, and life in California. What if it was all gone in one flash?

And what if you received a donation to start to rebuild that life from a far corner of Alabama, from atop 🏔️look out mountain, what if a group of women stuffed a mason jar with $1’s, $5’s and $50’s whatever they could spare. And what if their yoga session was dedicated to peace to their frantic hearts if just for a minute. Well that happened 🙏and we’ve got more fundraising events like these coming. 🫶💗🍃So many thanks to the compassionate hearts showing up for this effort close to my heart. Jane Patton you are the best!

You are never too far away to help someone, sometimes the far reaches can comfort the most. If you’d like the link to make private donations, please message me and I’ll send it your way. 🌷

We’re hungry! Fresh air and pasture walks after an afternoon at the made for big breakfast plans. 🍳

Mushroom toast 🍄‍🟫with a poached egg was on the menu, golden and blue oyster mushrooms sautéed with shallot, fresh thyme and rosemary, got piled high on cast iron toasted cheddar sourdough, topped with a poached egg, sprinkled with chia seeds, scallions, bee pollen, Celtic salt and Microgreens. Yum!

The bread is from the mushrooms from the scallions are from our winter garden, as is the rosemary and eggs from our coop, the micros came from the market as well and please comment if you know their name - I missed it at the market but love my assortment!

If you’d like a creamier version, stir some cream, milk or sour cream into your mushrooms before piling onto your toast.

Have an amazing day… I’m headed over to Jasper TN for a culinary event this morning, stay tuned for a report on that!

I want to believe in a world where fish fly under water, I believe beauty and love trumps power, I believe all humanity will someday relate to one another as equals and that we will all recognize the uniqueness in us and around us by treating others with love and grace. We can all swim together.🤍

I won’t stop believing that living differently renders the impossible, possible. I breathe best in the depths of creative waters and I love to loose myself in the flow of music, nature, dreams, imagination and fantasy, to escape by creating artistic plates of food and shared conversation. Meditation, yoga and the sensory experience of food, flavors and taste take me to a place of joy that can be shared without any expectation of return, but so often comes back tenfold.

I have an unusual take on life and I believe I am exactly who I’m supposed to be, the more I believe fish can fly the better my life seems to get! 🙃🥰

So can lemonade be thick white and creamy, oh yes it can! When we look to learn from other cultures we find so much to share, Brazilian lemonade is made with whole limes, condensed milk, and water so I tried making it with coconut milk and lemon, though lime would be really great here too. Here’s how I made mine, you’ll be seeing this in Spring offerings and Culinary events for sure.🤍🌷🍋Come fly with me!

Coconut lemonade:
1 c ice cubes
1 c water
1 c coconut milk
1/2 cup lemon or lime juice
1/3 c honey or maple syrup
1/8 tsp sea salt
Garnish with mint

Whirl the ingredients together in the blender until frothy and pour into a glass to serve! Fun, beautiful and unexpected. ❄️🤍🍃🥥

You can pour the mixture through a fine mesh strainer if it’s lumpy and it would be fun to rub the rim of the glass with lemon or lime and dip in coconut sugar before you add the drink. 🍸🍋

Go be you, the more unique, loose and alive… the better!

Eating this to get ready for that…🥰

The dogs are learning to be amongst the sheep, goats and chickens. Future guardian dogs. I’m loving seeing how everyone coexists, lots of play, the parents teach and protect and lessons are learned.

27/01/2025

I recently tried a low FODMAP eating style to give my digestive system a rest, it’s thought to remove gastric irritants with a goal of restoring a healthy gut flora. Nice benefits are a flatter belly, sharper mind and an overall cleaner 🫧feeling. Our gut health is closely tied to our brain health and our emotional self. So certainly I was intrigued - I want to feel my best, always!

I love an opportunity to be creative with food so I studied up on high and low FODMAP foods and documented my plates as I went along.

Rather than what I couldn’t have, I focused on all the good things I could! It’s a similar thought process to instead of I have to, I get to!

Even if you aren’t interested in a dietary change try saying “I get to” every time you start to say “I have to… “ it’s a game changer and you’ll be smiling over this one, I guarantee it!

Have a great day!🤍

A big show of kindness at Mountain Aire Yoga, where Jane Patton led a full house in a Peace centered yoga class. In a world of wild weather, politics and mixed emotions we are reminded that every little kindness touches and bumps another and we find we are crowded in good, love and positivity. 💗

Our donation jar for fire affected Californians was full, enthusiastic sentiments for healing were sent and everyone left with a lift in their hearts. 🙏 Jane tells me her Mountain Aire yoga page has had an increase in interest through shares of this event and we just watch the beauty of the ripples go and go!

Thank you Jane for hosting, thank you for the generous donations and the love in your hearts that soothes a community far away.

If you’d like a list to make private donations directly to fire affected Californians, please message me or comment and I’ll forward you the link.

Whoaaaa! What a terrific response to my last post regarding fund raising for Los Angeles!

What a caring and giving community we have 🙌, I’ve had individuals request the link for private donations, I’ve had multiple yoga studios ready to participate and we are in the works for a fabulous Valentine dinner in Tennessee! Stay tuned for announcements on all of these!😊

Our first will be this Saturday morning at Mountain Aire Yoga!
I’ve been taking private Pilates instruction with Jane Patton and have also attended herbal studies with her husband Darryl Patton master herbalist and holistic healer. They teach out of their wooded cabin in Mentone surrounded by natures peace and live by the beat of their generous hearts.

Janie will be offering her open Yoga Slow Flow Gentle Yoga this Saturday January 25th at 10am, I’ll have some healthy treats and a donation bucket to catch your enthusiasm! Thank you in advance and if you have a chance to let Jane know, that’s even better. See her Facebook account for Mountain Aire Yoga or Jane Patton to reach out to her.🧘🏻🧘‍♀️

Would you like to feel good, empowered and important?

Well, I’ve got the way. The givers get in life and I’m feeling much inspired to raise funds for fire affected Californians.

We are all interconnected in this world, and I can’t think of a better example of a ripple effect than this opportunity to help those that are in shock, rebuilding and naviagating a surreal life experience. When we send love from afar they are deeply affected.

You all often say to me that there must be two of me. You’ll find me here there and everywhere. Well maybe it’s my Gemini, but I’ll tell you I love to explore and see a variety of communities. I love to meet people and understand different cultures. I’m affiliated in peoples minds with community, nurturing and interest and I absolutely love that. ♥️

It’s because of those ties that I’m reaching out today. As many of you know, my daughter is an artist in LA. I’ve shared many a visit and bring flavors from this wonderful city into my classes and Private chef experiences. So whether you’ve been to California, love California or think that has nothing to do with… it does, it most certainly does! And cooking aside, when one person has a positive thought or action, it reverberates across the world so you are truly much more powerful than you might realize.🌍

So here are ways we can help, 🙌if you are a business and would like to do a collaboration with me, please dm me. This high level energy will attract as we combine and I know much beauty will come forth as we combine efforts. Examples: farms, yoga, educators, musicians, artists, potters, healers we can all come together beautifully! There is nothing too small or too big, let’s pop some ideas and get this healing energy going!

If you are an individual, please comment and I can send you a list of identified needs or share this post. I’d like to be clear here that while my daughter’s heart is broken over the devastation, these funds are not for her. She is fine and working as a connector in her community. This help to her community will help her heal and that’s the benefit for her and as her mother, that’s of greatest importance to me.♥️

Much love to you all!

❄️Chill - I! Sun on our backs and we are smiling. A pot of chili, this time traditional but please see my website for vegetarian versions that are sure to warm you up! 🥘

I wanted to try my hand at cornbread because we had a bag of corn grits in the house. Research said yes, you can substitute corn grits for corn meal but that it’ll be grainier. So a cup of flour, a cup of corn grits, some milk, honey, baking powders, salt and soda and an egg collected from the 🐓coop and we had a nice looking skillet cornbread and it was delicious! I like a courser texture to all of my breads so I’ll be making this one again!

Chili toppings were scallions from the garden, hearty little guys😃, and a big dollop of whole milk Greek yogurt.

It’s chilly out there❄️, here’s how we are fighting the frigid aire!

Homemade hot chocolate:
2 cups of milk - any kind you like
2 T unsweetened cocoa powder, I’m using Ghirardelli dark
2 T sugar - coconut palm or date sugar for best glucose stabilization meaning your glucose levels won’t spike as much as with white sugar
1/4 c dark chocolate chips
1/8 tsp vanilla
Pinch of Celtic salt

Heat it all at a low simmer, not boiling, whisk to combine and when combined through pour into your favorite pottery mug. Earthy, warm and cozy, enjoy your snow day!
