There are so many facets to a gathering, do we all agree on everything in life… of course not. But when we gather with an intentional commitment to love and respect for all humankind, beauty shows up. 🌸

Well before an event…the event is created. People like Janie come up with a nourishing notion to offer a day and space to help ground and stabilize people. She invites healers to support her vision.

Everyone involved in a retreat (including the guests!) takes their role seriously, grounding ourselves prior to the event, gathering the best ingredients and sensory experiences possible.

👩🏻‍🌾I started with a blackberry shrub, hand picked from the event property months earlier. We fermented the berries and extracted the nectar just for these specific guests. Pumpkins and flowers were collected from neighboring farms and the food placed on the table was collected from the garden and local farms. I serve the drinks in vintage mason jars. Janie selected antique tea cups for her closing ceremony and loose tea from Mercantile in Fort Payne.

We served the drinks with intention, the first drink (the shrub) welcoming them to a collective lunch at the table to connect and learn about each other. The tea was the close to the day, a ceremonial sipping and summing up the day. 🫖

This is all intentional, and weaved with yoga, meditation, sound bath and massage to restore us, calm us and prepare for whatever comes our way.

Lean towards one another in tough times, prickly friction is isolating and damages the prickler as much as the prick-lee!

Pick those blackberries despite their brambles and navigate with love. That’s what love will do!🧡

Yes! It would be fun, very fun, to have your first 👩‍🍳Private Chef experience for your annual girls trip!! Just ask these girls from 🪐Jupiter (Jupiter Florida that is😉), they’ve been friends since high school and get together annually to bond and ground. This year they decided to try a Private Chef night and pleased they were! 😃💕

Vegetable heavy with a beef tenderloin and smashed red potato to satisfy all tastes was on the menu. An appetizer of salmon mousse on 🥒cucumber and toast rounds started things off and that famous flourless dark chocolate cake was our finishing note!👌

Some cute things happened:
•Should they put on classical music for this upscale event? 👠👗🎩Nah, their 90’s playlist was great!
•Should they leave the chef in the kitchen to focus? Nope! They joined me and I showed them how I get pomegranate tendrils out, shaved garlic and tossed up some beets (and a bunch of stories) from my garden! 👩🏻‍🌾 It was much more fun to be ourselves, snack on 🫛snap peas, and let go of any airs as we talked about the meditative opportunities throughout our day (a 🚗red light, peeling brusselsprout leaves, massaging kale) a blue zone type experience of camaraderie, celebrating your tribe and slowing down is just what was on the menu for the night and lovely and exquisite it was!
•There was crying laughter too 😂🤣 haven’t had a beet before - they are earthy and if you need to spit it into your napkin that’s ok with me 😂😉 glad you tried it and try again in seven years when your tastes buds change! There’s more of those snap peas on the table!

Try new things, experience life through other peoples eyes, gather at the table and celebrate what is essential in life - love! 🧡🍃

Thank you girls for expanding my life by being part of your night!🌙🪐

Saturate yourself in that what brings meaning to you… that is my intended message and I hope to inspire all interested to explore their intended path as I seek mine and share my experiences.
🌸

For me, a connection to the table is highly sacred. A place to gather, talk, look into one another’s eyes, share food and conversation. The process of gathering the food, especially from the garden brings me peace and centering, gathering pumpkins from a neighbor, sourcing food from local markets, finding my yoga community and meeting new people and learning about our community through their eyes… it all brings high value, a purity and a reminder of humanness.
🌸

Every one of us has a divine purpose, and each of ours is different, how wonderful that the less we allow ego, comparative bias or lack of inclusivity frees us.

Find yours, share yours, it’s contagious, it ripples and it adds joy and value to our world.

A 🧘‍♀️🍃beyond amazing day and first retreat (with more to come!🧡) with Janie Hale of at Rolling Pastures Ranch. ☺️🍃🍃🍃

We started with yoga in the Prairie style barn designed by Architect and Ranch owner Russell Bauer, with sheep and chicken cuteness peeking around the corner 🐑🐓🐣, a meditative walk around the bountiful gardens, a sound bath to resonate within by the amazing , Thai massage with loving Tricia Poe, tea ceremony and fire and a Fall Harvest Luncheon as my add.

We poured blackberry shrub beverages made from the on site blackberry vines, shared a lunch of Brussel sprout, fennel apple salad with pecorino and black pepper. A pear and Gorgonzola endive and arugula salad and an asparagus and garden grown purple sweet potato dish to go with an Asiago penne were the additional salads. 😋Dark chocolate brownies with satsuma and pomegranate wrapped up our harvest lunch.

Russ joined us for Q & A and was available to discuss Regenerative agriculture, animal husbandry, foraging, Katahdin sheep, guardian dogs and gardening questions and shares.

It was an honor to be part of this retreat, as always, the guests that these retreats attract are always just the right blend of love, camaraderie and connection. 🌸What a joy to hear so many say that this was just what their heart needed.🥰

When the American Lumber Standards Commitee comes to Fairhope, it’s only the best for their team and spouses. The shuttle bus delivered these committee spouses for a Party Foods & Sips Class that did not disappoint!

We created mocktails, lemon caper dip for asparagus and purple sweet potatoes, prosciutto wrapped chicken with avocado dip, bleu cheese crostini with drippy honey 🍯and their requested orange cupcakes with seasonal dugared toppings! Edible flowers and berries brought out the creativity and fun! Loads and loads of fun with this convivial group!

01/11/2024

🤍Creating a sense of Heaven on Earth is a life I have sought for as long as I can remember, fairness and fun for all is the idealic goal, a feeling of family in my work and play has always come naturally. Early days as a 🌸Jerry Garcia fan where it was one big family was forever forming for me. The inclusion and call for uniqueness was significant and is the music to my making.🎶💕

In a previous job, they allowed me to use these skills as I welcomed new employees to the company with a description of the “wheel” of the work and goals of the company and how they (very importantly) fit into that. On birthdays we’d wish them well and give a short celebratory description of how their unique qualities made this work team extra special. Diversity was celebrated and these little reminders that each person brings something unique and different to the workplace was important. A plan for mentorship was in place and there was a strategy that to deliver healthcare, employees needed to feel cared for. I was delighted to be part of the carrier for that model. 🩺🤍

I believe we can carry these qualities into all of our interactions, whether it’s the workplace, the voting booth or driving in traffic. 🚗

You can run and operate the biggest company in the world but if you aren’t connecting to people, seeing them for their unique worth - not only are you gypping them but you are gypping yourself. Life is about the connections, the little moments, the people we touch and lend a hand to as we travel through this lifetime.

As a mother, my children know it’s their unique qualities that make them who they are. A desire to blend or follow the norm is discouraged. And they know that open conversation and experiences are encouraged, how else do we truly know one another…?

It’s fear that keeps us separate from one another, it’s where you find attitudes of superiority, the office gi**lo or gossip being destructive. Those actions come from a place of comparison vs inclusion.

Go forth today with an open heart, use awe as you listen to another - especially someone with opposing views, know that this life is one big wheel and it’s our differences that make it a beautiful garden. 🫛🌷

😅If you’re feeling a little overwhelmed at the thought of holiday entertaining, start small and think big… I’ll show you how!👩‍🍳

You can either get holiday entertaining ideas at the Party Foods & Sips class or let the class BE your holiday entertainment! 😀

The Party foods & Sips class is a fun, casual gathering where you and your friends can sip and chop (as much or little as they want) as we create an array of delicious foods for the first hour and then enjoy the food for the second hour!

This is a popular one, see the website for all of the Culinary Event options. ☺️

Sweet pea, snap pea… snap dragon🫛🌸🍃

All the favorites coming together as I gather some fresh flowers for upcoming classes and some garden goodies to snack on and nourish in the process!👩🏻‍🌾 Ahhh, how I love to engage the senses!🍃

Try the ginger carrot dressing, affectionately called “Sunshine” dressing for its vibrant color and flavor, you’ll find the recipe on my website and it makes a delicious salad dressing or dip with crunchy snap peas! Especially tasty when combined with flower arranging, fresh air and anticipation for upcoming culinary events and retreats! ☺️

The event may be over, but the memory lives on. Not just for the hostess and guests but for me, these events can be very bonding and friendships evolve. 🧡🍃
We menu plan together, discuss colors, flavors and themes even the timing of when food is served and if it’s waiting at the table or served individually.

This hostess created the flower arrangements with her husband to complement her table setting and served cocktails to their guests in hand blown glass by their son. 🙌

Afterwards we recap and share the successes and anything we want to take forward.

I feel a kindred bond to all of you that have allowed me into your homes and trusted me with your wedding weekends, anniversaries, 80th birthdays and other significant events. 🌸

While the memories and connections are plenty gift enough, sometimes a host or hostess passes something of theirs along to me, in this case, a beautiful live oak bowl by John B, the salad tongs are from Africa and they were a gift from a Party foods and Sips group in Clanton, Al. I have pottery pieces from another hostess friend and honey and herbs from another. The conversations and bonding that take place is nourishing and reciprocal and this is just so much more than a dinner.

Your referrals to neighbors and the opportunity to create magical nights is the most ultimate and appreciated gift!🙏 Thank you to all who have invited me into your homes and lives, the holiday calendar is filling and gift certificates are beginning to be requested as well. Feel free to contact me through messaging or through the website, the link is in the bio above.

With love,

How lucky can one girl get…☀️

Prepping blackberry shrub (a fermented drink) for an upcoming retreat with , a fresh spread of hay for yoga in the barn, a lunch break, late afternoon rounds as Russ feeds the guardian dogs and we give a little praise, moving the sheep to new pasture, checking eggs and getting a kick out of chickens and Ranch life in general at days end.🌟🍃

Hi! 👩🏻‍🌾

Filling myself up with all good things… a crunchy lunch of Brussel sprout salad, Brazil nuts, olives, cucumber salad and cottage cheese and some blue corn chips as I pick and plan for an upcoming Party Foods and Sips for 16 ladies in Fairhope and an almost sold out retreat with at the Rolling Pasture Ranch on November 2nd! 🍃🧘🏻🧘‍♀️👩🏻‍🌾

Party foods and Sips is a long standing fun class where we create party foods and drinks and have our own party - you leave with the recipes in hand for your next party so the fun keeps rippling on out! These are private events and you create the group and we will provide the food and instruction!👩‍🍳

The retreat with is the first with wonderful Janie and she leads with such an amazingly compassionate heart that so many can’t help but to go where she leads!💕 The retreat is almost full but the Ranch is big and we are just putting more chairs at the table!! Join us for a day of nature and stilling (and filling!) our hearts!🍃

A harvest lunch is what I’ll add and I’m so excited to be part of this nourishing event! See you there!

It’s always a delight to cook and last night was a full circle night for me… I was able to bring cooking and my love of the Ranch life all together. 👩🏻‍🌾

Stacey and John B hosted their Boys and Bridge group, their Fairhope 🏡home is a celebration of art - her art on the walls, her floral arrangements on the tables, John B’s beautiful wood work and their sons blown glass drinking vessels to give a glimpse of what a night with them feels like. ☺️A depth and celebration of home and love for sure.

I was invited to 👩‍🍳cook while guests were welcome to interact with me. Billy Dumas and I explored the history of those darling spoon tomatoes and found out that they are ancestral… our demands and natural selection has promoted the increasing size of tomatoes over time!

As dinner was served, a crispy skinned salmon with braised radishes in a miso broth with spoon tomatoes served over red skin mashed potatoes and a brussel sprout, fennel, apple salad, Stacy asked me to join the table to talk about the ingredients I’d gathered from the all season garden and the Sheep Ranch where I spend my time. (Rolling Pastures Ranch) outside of Mentone, Al. We talked about animal husbandry, the katahdin sheep, the regenerative practices for soil health and environmental wellness. To sum it up, we talked about the innate goodness, the purity, that Russ serves these 75 acres… caring for sheep, goats, guardian dogs, and chickens with the heart of a true shepherd. This care ripples out and creates a much wider expanse of goodness into the world. It’s a pleasure to live amongst it and we’ve enjoyed inviting people to come see and experience it with us. I’ve included photos as she had asked me to share some last night.

To wrap up the evening, rich in friendship and conversation, we served Stacy’s recipe for 🍏Autumn apple cake with brown butter frosting.😋What a beautiful experience it was!

I’ll admit I teared up with overwhelm when they presented me with one of John B’s live oak bowls, signed and a treasure and reminder of a night when I felt that my world truly came together. What a gift these two are, and I am grateful for our wonderful evening. ☺️
