Happy Birthday to us! Rolling Smoke is officially a decade old. Ten years ago in June, we rolled this very heavy blank canvas home from SLE Trailers in Nashville and tried to figure out what to do with it. Food trucks were almost non-existent in NWTN at that time so there really wasn’t anyone to lean on. We’re honestly still figuring it out. 😁
Jason’s Uncle Ralph Ferrell came up with the name for us. Carly Kendall came up with our pig on a motorcycle logo. Jowers Sign Co did our full trailer wrap.
We could write a book about everything this trailer has been through in a decade but that’s for a different post. Thank you sincerely to everyone who has supported us these past ten years.

🍓 Gibson County Friends: Please share. We hope to see you this week at 16th and Main in Humboldt! We’ve brought back all of the old favorites and are bringing 3 new items that will be available daily in limited quantities. - Smoked Cream Cheese, (West Coast Ballpark) Tri-Tip Nachos, and the Loaded Cornbread Waffle. This is a labor intensive menu and all items are made fresh in the trailer daily.
We are open Sat-Sat 11a-8:30p and open early at 9a on parade days. We’ve brought our tent for your shelter from the sun and/or rain when ordering. Also note, our serving window is on the sidewalk
side for our customers protection. This is a berry busy street and we want everyone to be safe in our food line.
We love our Gibson County friends and can’t wait to serve you.

There’s a first time for everything! We catered our first breakfast this week to celebrate the linemen at WCMES for First Community Bank.
What was on the menu? It was Jason’s duck-blind breakfast special with eggs, bacon, sausage, hashbrown casserole, and biscuits and gravy.
Those linemen stayed busy last night so we hope that breakfast fueled their late night work.

We are hosting a sack lunch fundraiser on April 26, with amazing BBQ cooked up by Robert Lovell! Order forms were distributed to Beta members this week and are due back by April 19. We have the best job in the whole world. We got to celebrate with the Fowler & Erwin families last night at Discovery Park of America. This was one of the most spectacular weddings I’ve ever seen and I’m so glad we got to be a part of it. What was in the menu?

Where it all started...
Rolling Smoke BBQ, owned and operated by Jason Menees of Martin, TN began out of a love for cooking meat and hanging out with friends. Several friends decided to enter the Soybean Festival BBQ Cookoff in 2007. Jason Menees, Clint Riley and Brad Branscum started a team called the Big Boyz. A good time was had by all.
The next year, several other friends got involved including Chad Robey and Bryan Harding and the name became the Serial Grillerz. The Grillerz competed for several years in various local BBQ Cookoff contests throughout NWTN. There were many good times and a couple of trophies won along the way.
In 2011, Jason, who worked for his dad at 3Js convenience stores, began his own brand of BBQ called Rolling Smoke. For 7 years, Rolling Smoke BBQ was served and sold out of 3Js stores in Martin, Union City and Fulton.
Jason began to pick up BBQ catering business throughout the Ken Tenn area. The Rolling Smoke BBQ trailer provided visibility on Elm Street and was a part of many festivals and street fairs in the area.
In 2018, Rolling Smoke BBQ ended their relationship with 3Js stores after an acquisition. Jason decided to branch out on his own to focus primarily on catering, BBQ delivery and the food truck operation.
