Wow Claire! AMA-ZING!!!
Finding that perfect “Hawai’i Wedding” dress has it’s own set of challenges. Our endless summer weather means beach attire year round. Spending the day in a gown versus a bikini isn’t the easiest plan to shop for! Here is a list of designers that we’ve see make a great sunshine friendly garment!

DREAM COME TRUE 🤍 just sent over the sneak peak photos for Claire & Kenneth,☺️. If I didn’t know this was a real life wedding, I’d think it was a styled shoot! Glamorous & perfect in every way. This celebration was extra special because it’s realization was true testament to patience and resilience. Originally slated for 4.25.2020, covid displaced this event not once, but 2x. All our vendors were gracious and cooperative, the change emails seemed never ending. On the couples side, months and months of uncertainty and several departures from the original plan required extra patience and delivered plenty of fried nerves. This wasn’t a couple who started their planning during the pandemic and entered into with an expectation of covid unknowns. The only assurance I could offer them was that it would be worth it to wait it out. Just get to Kauai safely, and the wedding team on island would welcome them and as always, bring their best! After tears, let downs, many many changes and 17 months of waiting, I’m so thankful that Claire & Kenneth didn’t give up on their dream Kauai wedding. They did get their storybook ending! I’ll share more moments from their amazing day throughout the week. (They are currently honeymooning in Africa, hope to share some of those photos too & live vicariously through their adventures). Congratulations to the Greens!!!!! 🤍

WAIMEA DAYS
Considering for your wedding celebration?
Here’s 10 reasons why Waimea might be right for you!
1. It is like stepping back into “the good old days” of Hawai’i. Into a time when Hawaii life included agriculture and tourism didn’t sustain our economy.
2. It’s a hotel property, so everyone can stay together, but in actual cottages, separated by mature hawaiian landscaping. I love that they have 1-4 bedroom units so if friends want to team up & stay together they can, or families/couples can have their own space. They all have kitchens, so that’s a bonus, especially during covid times.
3. The bride & groom stay on the same property as the event! This is key to supporting the relaxed vibe on your wedding day. You can’t forget anything in your room!
4. No drinking & driving! There aren’t many alternatives for places to stay in Waimea so typically the whole party stays on property. This means the couple can rest easy their guests make it home safely after celebrating.
4. The tree of love. Recently a vendor touted the amazing banyan tree, the tress of love! It’s not only a beautiful ceremony location, the shade it provides all day allows you to start your ceremony earlier so you can enjoy a longer reception.
5. Epic lighting. Waimea see’s the last glimpse of light of the major Hawaiian Islands and the sunset lighting is amazing. It makes everyone look beautiful.
6. Lush landscaping. The well loved plant life provides dozens of amazing backdrops for wedding photos.
7. Backyard style wedding. Waimea is one of the only places on Kaua’i that you can still have a the feeling of renting a house and having your wedding where you stay.
8. Privacy. Waimea isn’t packed with visitors. It’s so far out on the West Side, it just doesn’t have the same crowds you get in Poipu or Princeville.
9. Fair rates. They base your site fee on your party size and have always been fair.
10. Utilities. The site fee includes the electricity you need for your party AND a garage for the caterer to use (savings!).
There are so many more reasons why I LOVE WAIMEA, but I gotta go, heading there now to set up for Aryn & Brandon’s special day!

Speaking as a wedding coordinator AND 7x former bridesmaid, a wedding can be an amazing time to bond with your besties & sisters! When my sister met the love of her life in North Carolina, (could that be any further from Hawai’i????) her wedding planning brought us closer than ever before. It gave us a reason to brave the time difference & began the still thriving conference calls with mom! Same with my besties, in most cases we had been separated by time & physical distance for years.
