Throughout my life I have often thought I could not be happy without a husband or a boyfriend I could not be happy without money, without a car, my house, without my children, without my chickens and my dog, without respect and good health, without this or that, and without all of the multitudes of things I perceived others as having. I was so focused on what I did not have that I was blind to see what I do have. And the truth is that life will give us love in all different kinds of beautiful ways from sources never imagined when we start looking around. All we truly have to do is open our eyes and appreciate what is around us, receive that love and be happy with the connections in all of the good things that God provides, and remembering the things that have been forgotten and overlooked. We are never alone because everything in this world is connected spiritually and physically. And we can always be happy when we go with what is given to us and be grateful for it- flowing with life and love not by our own terms, but by the flexibility, openness and acceptance of whatever our circumstances happen to be. Accepting that we don’t get to decide that, but we are gifted the ability to make the very best of it.
