I shouldn’t have to explain this.. ;) There was a day, and it seems like yesterday that I had to fight for my gigs. I fought the never ending “ My groom decided he didn’t want a female MC” or the corporate guys wouldn’t take me serious since I’m a girl… what do I know about audio technology or classic rock. ( I have a Harley Sportster 80s - rock all day!) we had to fight to be respected. So when I hear “ you have an edge as a female dj since they’re so trendy now”. It’s not an edge. It’s a sigh of relief after over a decade of tears, hard work, and fighting to be viewed as talented regardless of my s*x.
