Team RJs ( and altahertz) flew down to Texas for the BBQ Association Outlaw Roundup in Denton, Texas. This end of the year event can’t be missed. While it seems we took a little PNW weather with us we still had a great time.

🐄 Brisket: 18th place
🐓 Chicken: 7th place
🐷 Ribs: ??

Overall: Not in the top 15 🤪 (74 teams)

With the awesome way Outlaw does their end of the year event, not only did we get our walk payout but we got the bonus money that the association adds. This money comes from all the entry fees, merchandise sales, and “Kiss Your Sister” (aka Wildchild). They are all about taking care of the cooks.

And on top of that the 18th place brisket got us a little more cash for a side pot. $40 entry got us $390!

This is the last event of 2024. It’s been a wild ride this year. We are still amazed at the people we’ve connected with and how small the national BBQ family really is. Looking forward to 2025!

Team RJs ( and Alta M Hertz) just finished what feels like the longest weekend of the year. This past weekend was the 2024 Pacific Northwest BBQ Association Championship at Clearwater Casino Resort in Suquamish, WA. There was also Feed the Troops event and a VIP dinner.

With the help of many other BBQ teams on Friday 660 veterans were feed a feast- beans, mac and cheese, pulled pork, sausage, ribs, and chicken. Then on Friday 175 VIPs were fed a smorgasbord. Somehow they nearly polished off 45 racks of ribs, 200 chicken thighs, 100 lbs of sausage, 100 lbs of meatloaf, 125 lbs of turkey breast, 40 lbs of broccoli, 40 lbs of brussels sprouts, 2 pans of mac and cheese, and salad. It’s mind boggling. Huge thank you to the teams that helped cook the food-
Jason Mittmann
Randall Poole
Joseph Poteet(J&C BBQ and Catering)
Pat Maddock
Jason T Aqui
Dale A Groetsema
Erick Duchesneau
Rory Martindale
Noel Ostrander
Dan Gorton

And thank to the teams that also helped serve the food-
Christina Gorton
Donna Fong
Steve Rubin
Robert Rapier
Christina Poteet
Sheldon Koehler
Allen Carter
Ed Sakai
Jane Biehl
Christine Maddock

Wow! RJs is so grateful for the partnership with . They jumped in on the pellet give away to sweetened the pot. They are including 15 bags of the USA made charcoal pellets. That’s $250 worth of product. And it could be yours for just an $18 entry. All proceeds benefit Camp Korey.
