Many years ago, I started a tradition at the beginning of each year: creating a list of 36 things I want to accomplish in 365 days. Simple things like paying it forward once a month, reading 420 books in a year (I only made it to 408 in 2024), or getting a piece of artwork framed. Let me tell you—36 might not sound like much, but it’s surprisingly hard to come up with 36 measurable or tangible goals (and nebulous statements like "be happier" don’t count).

I revisit the list every couple of weeks, and anything that doesn’t get checked off just carries over to the next year’s list—and that’s okay. Goals are just that—goals. This process keeps me accountable and gives me something to look forward to!
