The fertile soil of Wisconsin has provided the freshest food to its people for generations. I founded REDBARN CATERING on the principle that the best ingredients are found in our own back yard. I hand select each fruit and vegetable from local farmers markets and Co-ops. I procure all meats, cheeses, and breads from local butchers, cheese makers, and bakeries. While it may take more care and effor

t to bring a meal from the field to the table, the difference is one that anyone can taste, and appreciate. So with this in mind, I invite you to enjoy local foods, and treat your taste buds to something special.

Renaissance Farm is an award-winning artisanal food business that has been in operation since 1985! It is owned and operated by Mark Olson, who is well known for his old-fashioned handmade cinnamon rolls, which have been exclusively sold at the Dane County Farmers’ Market on the Capitol Square in Madison for years. UNTIL NOW!

While Mark continues in his adventures at the Dane County Farmers’ market, he has also been kind enough to share them with us, the only other place in town they can be found 💚 stop in and grab a chair to eat it here, or take one to go!

I met Mark while working at FEED Kitchens small business incubator kitchen on the north side of Madison. I was quickly impressed by him as a person and a businessman and I’m so proud to serve both Mark’s classic frosted cinnamon rolls and his basil + sun-dried tomato & cheese dinner swirls- made with basil grown on his farm in Spring Green!

Super thin layers of potato with butter brushed between each layer. Then baked, pressed & chilled, sliced, and fried. Thee most pleasurable experience I've ever had while eating a potato. I'll be making this one again...

No doubt you've heard all about the amazing Farm & Food Tour that we're taking part in; Savor the River Valley. But we're also going to be out at Folklore Village making some truly special Cajun food.
We're talking Gumbo, Po Boys, Sweet Potato Pone, Cornbread, Buscuits 'n Gravy, Burbon soaked raisins, and much more!

Help us celebrate Earth Day while you get to know local farmers and food makers, and enjoy the scenic Driftless Area countryside! Savor the River Valley is hosting its 2nd annual Farm & Food Tour, Saturday April 20th, 2024, 10am-4pm.

It's a free, family friendly, self-guided tour through the River Valley Area (Iowa, Sauk and Richland Counties) that meanders along Highway 23 from Cedar Grove Cheese Inc. in Plain to Meadowlark Farm and Mill in Ridgeway.

You'll get behind the scenes and purchase directly from several businesses not normally open to the public, including BrewHaHa Roasters, Cates Family Farm, Ducks in a Row Family Farm, Meadowlark Mill, RedBarn Catering , and Tortilleria Zepeda.

Several businesses are also offering special tours, demos or product samples including Cedar Grove Cheese, Straka Meats and Block 23 in Plain; Bird of Paradise, Taliesin and Wander Provisions in Spring Green; and Seven Seeds Farm outside Spring Green.

Savor the River Valley is a non-profit, grassroots initiative to promote farmers, makers, restaurants and food retailers in the River Valley. Connecting those who produce and prepare awesome food with those who love eating it. www.savortherivervalley.org
