ABOUT THE DESIGNER BEHIND MOON DANG:

I am Lisa (Dang) Bromley, a deaf jewelry artist, an aspiring florist and a gemstone fanatic. I have always had an artistic and creative spirit while my craft-savviness inspirations were influenced by spirituality culture. I was a student of art, beginning in 2004 at Texas Woman’s University to pursue a fashion design degree. I began to experiment with selling artwork to make ends meet, gathering and creating artwork from accessories obtained at thrift and craft stores. I taught myself to learn how to make jewelry through books and the Internet. I work from a small studio at home in Austin, Texas.

When I began to collect gemstones, rocks and crystals a few years ago. I dreamt about creating art with gemstones and other artistic findings. I fell in love with wire wrapping, soldering, electrofromed copper, patina and thrifty findings to create one-of-its-kind crystal with unique designs.

As for my love of crystals and being a spiritual person, I believe that crystals have the ability to channel and radiate energy. Each stone offers unique qualities, to be worn close to the heart, to contribute towards peace of mind, confidence, emotional balance and connections to the natural world.

My creations mainly consist of oxidized soldered wires, crystals, gemstones and other findings. I like to make high-quality pieces with twists of the unexpected (i.e., wires wrapped around crystals or gemstones merged with lead-free soldered wires and cleansed with alcohol, gold-flakes or patina coating added on stones to bring out design colors) for greater appeal. I want the creations to look like it had been treasured-made with a story to tell.
